Re: OnCourse Navigator 8 (with 20081 North America Maps)
Has anyone had any luck getting this to work on a Mogul? I was able to get it running, but if doesn't find the GPS receiver automatically, and if I either try to set it to port 4 manually, or have it search, it hangs the phone requiring a soft reset.
Figuring this is based on the IGo engine, I've been digging through those threads some, but I'm coming up blank at the moment. |

You could try using that Astrogps launcher one and put the lnk in your programs. I'm still using igo8 and thats what works for me though. You might have to change a few things around but im sure it would work. This to me is by far one of the better navigation apps btw.

What I did is ut the OCN8 folder on my storage card and since I haven't received my new card yet and I'm still running on the 512mb card it came with, i only copied the content for my area (building, map, poi). But when I try to boot up OCN8, it gives me the following error. Error: Program application database cannot be found. Please insert the original application SD card. Again, it's in \storagecard\OCN8 and the contents is in \storagecard\OCN8\building, \storagecard\OCN8\map, \storagecard\OCN8\poi Any suggestions? |

Also, for those who got this working, did it require a gps primer/launcher app for you? |

Quote: 1. Download and unrar the content of the archive to the root of your SD Card/Internal Storage. 2. Launch the application either from the File Explorer or create a Program Shortcut (using i.e.Totalcmd CE) So the way you told me to do it is, put the app folder in \my device and the content folder on \storage card both in root folders. Right? Does it matter that I only copied the data for my area? I didn't use all 50 states data. Just California... Would that matter? --------- New Post Merged on 28/10/2008 at 12:17:31 -------- Quote:

Re: OnCourse Navigator 8 (with 20081 North America Maps)
Thanks all the poster above. This GPS program looks nice. Can't wait to give it a test run after work.
I just want to make it easier for other who wants to install this on a HTC Touch Diamond. You can copy and past whatever you downloaded to the Internal Storage Drive. But do make sure you go to sys.txt and change it to "Internal Storage/OCN8" (remove those % %) and to save the OCN8 at the root of Internal Storage. And if your time is one hour off. Go to Advance mode, and Regional Settings. Time and Timezone Settings, uncheck Auto Time Correction to GPS. |
Re: OnCourse Navigator 8 (with 20081 North America Maps)
i had all those settings set the way you said and my time was still off so i jus gave it a shot wit disabling the gps and for once something worked for me without alot of reading to figure it out
|
Re: OnCourse Navigator 8 (with 20081 North America Maps)
yeah Brooklyn, I couldn't find that advance setting that you were talking about
so, I tried the auto time correction, and I guess I got lucky to have that auto time correction working for me. |
Re: OnCourse Navigator 8 (with 20081 North America Maps)
This program works quite perfectly on the touch pro with the maps i have. I cannot seem to get an updated version of 8.3.1 that actually works, but this works perfect in every way. Don't have to use a primer or anything to get it to run for the pro just works like butter. TY TY !!

Its really not to hard to get this running. Just use a program like googlemaps as a buffer to get your gps up and running. Then just launch ONC8 and your good to go. I did find that using this sys file made ONC8 run much smoother. Its just a sys file from IGO8 I just edited a few things to use ONC8. Here it is if you would like to use it. Just overwrite the existing sys file in your ONC8 folder. Dont give up so easily. Thats why there are so many people on this site. There is always someone here to help you out. Just ask for help. I hope this helps:) |

Re: OnCourse Navigator 8 (with 20081 North America Maps)
Howdy ladies & gents. I think I can get past the problem of getting the GPS reciever to be able to be recognized, so I'm not too worried about that right now.
My problem is that when I make a shortcut with Total Commander, it makes a .lnk shortcut. That shortcut launches the app fine when I run from file explorer or TC, but when i run it from M2D progs page or Start/Programs, it gives me the "Program application database cannot be found. Please insert original application SD card." Doesn't seem to make sense becuase the same .lnk works when launched from File Explorer. Anyone here still using this have any insight? Thanks. --------- New Post Merged on 3/3/2009 at 06:33:38 -------- I couldn't figure out how to edit my above post with the new format of the site. I got it to run from the start menu after reading one of the previous posts better, but I still can't get it to launch from M2D. If anyone knows what to do, please let me know. If not, no biggie. At least I can get it to go from the start menu. Thanks. |
