Download Insructions:
Method 1 (patch only): - if you already have the complete iGO8 package, download the archive containing only the patched executable, license and data.zip.

1. Download, unrar the package and overwrite the executable in your device with the supplied patched one.
2. Replace your data.zip with the supplied one.
3. Place the license file into the \iGO8\License folder. Delete any other license file present in that folder.

Method 2 (full PDA package) - installation from SD Card using Autorun (recommended for PDA users only!)

1. Download and unrar the content of the archive to your SD Card.
2. Insert the SD Card, iGO autorun should pop-up. Follow the onscreen installation instructions.

Method 3 (full PNA package) - for PNA users and devices with Internal Storage only (HTC Touch Diamond)

1. Unrar the content of the archive into your internal flash drive
2. Open SYS.TXT file located in your IGO8 directory and add modify it as per the code below (for users running iGO from SD Card no modification's needed)
3. Launch the application either from the File Explorer or create a Program Shortcut (using i.e. Totalcmd CE)

NOTE: Not all devices use "Internal Storage" to identify it's internal flash drive. Especialy users with localized versions of WM OS must change the Internal Storage name as per it's translation to local language i.e. Internal Storage in French version of WM6 will be "Stockage Interne". Check this with your File Explorer prior modifying your SYS.TXT

rapidshare already blocked them. i got the pna and pda version, not sure which one to use but i have them both. call me an idiot if you'd like, but how are the maps obtained?

wtf rapidshare didnt even give much time and i dont really feel like uploading again already..... the best way to get maps and have them stay up long enough is through a torrent site liek demonoid or piratebay.

alright, thanks so much dude. i think i'll just abandon my hopes of having gps on the phone and just get a travel unit for the car or the new head unit that i want in my car. i really appreciate all the help a lot tho dude.

why do something like that??? trust me bro ask the questions..... we are here to help.... you have gps on the phone so why not use it????? garmin is also a good one with a lot of support already :>

well i tried both google maps and windows live and neither could detect that there was gps on the phone. i have the settings to 4800 baud rate, show location, and all that good stuff that is shown in another forum/thread to enable it and it still doesn't work. i got garmin xt however i'm lost on how to get that to discover the built-in gps. i searched and the only links i found were dead links. so i'm not sure what to do from here other than throw in the towel, lol.

there have been issues with this version like the one stated (cannot find internal gps) im using the old htc mogul from sprint also known as vx6800. what you need is a 3rd party app to launch the gps and then run igo8. its working like a dream with me with no problems at all. the 3rd party app im using is GPS2BLUE. if you have any other problems just ask.

i have an alltell ppc6800. rom is 3.35.671.9 and radio version is 03.37.20

well i wasn't able to get igo, however i do have garmin xt. do you think something like that would work for garmin?

yes i have both garmin and igo8.. both work perfect with the 3rd party app.... i got rid of my service 3 months ago and went to tmobile... so i jus turned my mogul into a gps unit lol

Well, got mine all setup. It picks up the GPS after I run a 3rd party app, but wierd thing is, there's no map. Just a black screen. it tells me my speed, direction, lat & lon, but no map for my car to move around on...I installed the latest map and latest update... Anybody else have this issue?

I'm pretty sure i did..

Settings:

Map Screen:

1)3D Settings

\landmarks - checked
\elevated roads - checked
building visibilty - far ahead
Terrain Detail - High

2) Color Profiles

\night mode - auto
\daytime color - default
\night color - default
\lane info - bottom

Thats all the display settings right...?

mmmm dont know why it would do that other than having it installed on the card rather than the main memory.
