Diamond - Sprint vs GSM Accessories

Is there any reason the batteries and craddles for the GSM Diamond would not work with the CDMA/Sprint version?

I had an instinct for a few months, and I have gotten spoiled with the spare battery that comes with it.

However I am not finding online or with Sprint any batteries or chargers that say they work with the Sprint Diamond. There was 1350MAH on elitexpress.com, but it was like $44! The ones on the HTC accessory site are like $70+ and sold out.

I see a USB craddle + battery on ebay for $27.99! The battery is only a 900mah, but you can also buy the 900mah for $15 on another site I saw. So that would be great to have a few options there.

you get what you pay for.... them ebay specials like that are garbage... the battery will last worth shit, wont hold a charge 2 months later, and the cradle arent cut right for the phone ever!!!! they always end up bending the pins through the usb and than you got to get a new one.

LOL, and the hits keep on playing! I was suppose to get my Diamond today via UPS Saturday delivery (paid for it), and UPS botched it. Now I wont get it til Monday. :(

I normally dont buy knock offs; however I thought I would give it a shot. Not sure if it makes a difference, but I passed over the Hong Kong ebay stores. I only bought from one based in the USA.

I did call HTC customer service and they said any of the the USB based cradles, batteries, or chargers for the GSM or CDMA Diamond should be interchangable. However the battery covers are different and therefore will not fit. Which that part is consistent with other posts I have seen. So I am hoping the customer service agent knew what he was talking about.

Thanks so much for the help Dash and crew!

Yeah, good stuff. The two extended batteries have me curious though. You dont see the cover that comes with it to know if it is really for the Sprint CDMA Diamond or not. :)

yeah they will work since its just using the usb but trust me you will scratch the hell out of the bottom around the charging port..... and you will have a bare of a time getting it on the desktop charger..... but let us know how you like it... being USA based you might have gotten a little higher quality...... but with all that came with it including a bettery i sorta kinda doubt it.

So got the craddle + battery + USB + mini USB power cable today. Okay, you were sooo right about the craddle. At first it would look like it would work; however the mini USB plug is inward about 2-tenths of an inch too much. Obviously not going to try and force it and risk damange.

The plus side is the battery will work and the craddle will charge the battery, and the mini USB plug could potentially be used as a charger (I will have to compare the voltage rating to ensure it does not cause damage.

As soon as I opened the package it said "made in china." NICE! LOL Well, for $30 I got an extra battery, battery charger, and potentially an extra charger (oh and a cheesy screen protector.) Probably will be "disposa-ware" in 2 months as you say, but will work until I can find more cost effective options for the accessories. Not crazy about extended batteries that add bulk.

Found this thread over on SprintUsers.com: http://www.sprintusers.com/forum/sho...=173575&page=2

A few links with in with people trying to track down extra batteries! They appear to match the part number on the OEM battery that came with the phone! BUT... check out the $70 price tags!

I wish Sprint would hurry up and get the accessories in stock dang it! LOL
