error code 129 internet on diamond
 
ok im getting error code 129 cannot conenct on my diamond and i cant seem to find any fix for this...... anyone have any ideas or find something on this?

if someone gets me the answer in the next 2 hours from this post time i will donate 10 bucks to them via paypal

i know it says that on my screen... i need to find a resolution........ i spent 2 hours with sprint on the phone and hung up on them..... i need to get the data working so i can get home from michigan back toNew Hampshire tonight........... so any help guys would be grwat... and a hard reset has been performed already to no avail.

well from what i found its the 3g meaning it could be your account, you said you hung up the phone on them so that kind of rules out your internet being locked. the next thing i can think of would be a registry issue but i believe a hard reset would fix that. ok so the next thing to test is your actual signal, sometimes th einitial connection requires decent signal. have you tried launching your 3g with a different program then the internet like using garming or maybe the htc weather panel? also see if you can connect via wifi. o and since im a smart ass :wink: :wink:

right i hate mapquest..... mad construction in MI and NH right now.... and i tried opening all the ways possible on the phone and still not working...

a few more things i have thought could be it, are you running a custom rom and have you made any tweaks to it before it started doing this? whats the most recent thing you have done since you actually got the error?

when connected to the computer yes but you cant use google maps or anything without internet connection... and i cant get wifi on the road..... and i dotn have a printer here.

google maps will give you directions, but reason im asking about the wifi is if it can connect via wifi then it might be your actual account and you will have to call sprint back.... if it won't connect via wifi then its your phone for sure, just another thing to narrow down the options. :smile:

it wont onnect via wifi..... it not the accoutn i checked that myself through remote access at work.... come on guys anyone else really need this fixed..... 25 bucks to the person that gets it in the next 45 minutes.

ok.. im not quite sure about this but just wonderin if u have tried goin 2 ur phone dialer> menu> options> services tab> internet> get settings... then initiate custom NAI entry to device (client-initiated IOTA) by taping start?

fack don't have registry editor on phone anymore... dont' feel like instlaling but it sounds dead on like a registry change. look in you internet area of your registry something is disabling it. i really need some background onto what youve don't on the phone if i am really to figure this out... can you tell me anything youve done before it started doing it? the only thing it really can be is the rom, try flashing a new rom on it real quick. if you did a hard reset and it didn't fix it, it almost HAS to be the rom because you can't change the rom with hard reset so. get what im saying?

well yeah im the after of roms but its not the rom since i was trunning the same one for over 2 weeks without troubles and than out of nowhere it started acting up....

well try at least reflashing the rom, there could be something conflicting in the rom that popped up. its worth a shot. and upon thinking since its internal that would essentially completely clear the system fixing it.

yeah i was thinking the same and trying to find a connection that isnt blocking the sites i need so i can download....

Sorry, it may be to late to help you tonight; however you may want to try refreshing your data profile (if SPrint didnt do that already.) Sometimes the data info on your device can get corrupted and you need to refresh it.

Start -> Settings -> System Tab -> Update Profile (clear at the bottom next to Windows Update.

129 I think is the code for when your username/password to log on to the data network does not match. I think I have seen it.

Also, have you tried to launch Opera/IE? Do you get connected there? (ie maybe it is a Sprint Navigation issue vs data.)

Okay, just for giggles, check this:

go to www.sprint.com and log in to your account
under My Sprint, click on the Settings and Password link
Under Account Admin Tools, click "wireless web access"
make sure your phone number IS NOT CHECKED on this page. If it is by chance, your data has been "shut off."

You may want to check it, save it, and then uncheck it. It could cause something to "refresh."

Also, check Settings -> Connections Tab -> connections -> under Sprint click on "Manage existing connections" and make sure your "sprint #777" is there.

If not, settings are as follows on my Diamond:
Name of Connection : Sprint
Model : Cellular LIne
Number to be dialed #777
Username/Password/Domain are blank
Advanced - Use server-assigned IP address is checked (on both tabs)
Use Slip is UNCHECKED
Use Software compression is CHECKED
Use IP Header compress is CHECKED

YOu may need to soft reset after adding.

Then try, from the home screen tap on the status bar at the top. Tap on the <- -> with an "X" does it say Sprint Connected? If it is then you are authenticating with the network and it is truly a handset issue.

Also make sure your data connection is "on" in the comm manager. I know that is a duh, but who knows. YOu have been messing with it for so long.... never know what you might have changed and forgot about.

I have had issues like this before. There used to be a place online you could change your vision password. I would sometimes chanage my password because it would force a change on the network and hopefully straighten out whatever has gotten lost.

I feel for you man. That sucks!

Dash, I posted this in your thread on ppcgeeks but I'll post it here as well.

This might be a shot in the dark but did you check the internet settings to make sure your select a modem box, cellular line was set GPRS, 3G and not auto?? Everything I found directed me to this setting.

IDK if this will help you out or not but I found a listing of all the Sprint error codes and what really catches my eye is the fact it says this>

Error Codes - RFC 2002 (129) 129 Administratively
Prohibited Mobile should display "Unknown error. Sign
in failed. Please try again. If the problem
persists, turn your phone off then turn it on again."

Maybe where you were at with your phone Sprint was not letting you use the net at that time. Like I said shots in the dark:)

i already got this on the first post and hes done more then a soft reset, hes done a full rom flash and everything... his phone is fried!!!

Yeah, I realized this after I had already posted it. Yes, I am bored and just trying to help. Just because it wont connect to the internet doesnt mean its fried. I would think at least.

naw the error has been like this for almost 2 days now...... jsut going to throw the towel in since i will be getting a touch pro sent to me..... thats right i will have 2 touch pros :>

my diamond and touch pro internet was acting like that i had to go in and change the value from 0 to 1 manually and then update profile in the settings tab

tried it all andam getting closer thanks to some info from jews phone.... hoping to get it up and running soon.
