A couple questions

OK so I have a couple questions regarding my alltel ppc6800. I didn't really didn't find what I was looking for searching.

1. I put my phone on my usb dock and transfer files to the storage card. Why when I do this is it so much slower then if I were to just transfer something strait to my sd card via a card reader. I was transferring a file about 90 megs today and it actually would not even transfer. The progress bar would get about half way and then just start over again. I just slapped my sd card into a card reader device and the file was on my card in less then 20 seconds.

2. Is it normal for my phone to use over half of its program memory just sitting there? Right now the phone is using 64% or its program memory just sitting there with no programs running. O do have the resco today plugin but even before that it was still using of 50%. Is this normal? The phone just seems to be running slugish.

I have wm 6.1. It is the official release off of HTC's site.

Thanks

yeah using activesync is like superslow compared to sd method so just stick with that. since you're on stock rom, battery life kinda sucks. you should search around for a custom rom. it has much better battery life among other things.

What about the program memory? Is it normal for over 50% of the program memory to be taken up just sitting there?

I was hoping there would be a way to transfer files faster without having to take my sd card out every time but I guess I can live with that.

I was thinking about putting kaos take 3 on my phone but I was not to thrilled about having a dude flick me off every time I turned on my phone. Any other rom options that are good and stable? I know there are tons of them out there so that is why I am asking.

Thanks

u can either try kaos roms or there's a diamond look like rom out there somewhere and that person made it for alltel. so you can try that if you'd like. it's all a preference really

program memory is just the space you have alotted to install on...... you are fine with where it is at at this point.

Dash is storage memory the memory the memory you install on and program is basically your ram? The program memory gets higher whenever I open programs and do stuff on the phone and the storage stays the same unless I install or uninstall programs.

Thanks

ye its like your ram and use a tasjk manager like quick menu to close out of all running apps. when you hit the X in the corner on a ppc it just minimizes the screen and doesnt close the running proces.

unless you change the x button settings to close on tap... or stay conscience to hold the x button long enough for the app too fully close

that is correct :> always forget that part since i have never used or been a fan of x-button.

I hear that, i tried the close on tap option for the x button for the sake of saving program memory space, but thats kinda of a pain als, because, sometimes you need to run more than one app simultaneusly to get something done, and just want to minimize, and it suck cuz it automatically closes... and I hate holding down the x button cuz, it makes me feel like my device is broken or something, by the sheer amout of time it takes to close... its definatly easier to just use the task manager when your on the home page.
