Saving Contacts
 

Hello,

First of all thanks to everyone who has contributed to this site, very much appreciated :kiss:

Anyways, here is my problem...I have an Alltel HTC Mogul, and wanted to update to WM6.1 . When I try to ActiveSync it won't sync. Basically it won't sync, I think, because I don't have Outlook on my desktop.

Is there any way to save the contacts when I update? Will everything disappear from my phone, programs, etc...(I think so, but just checking).

I tried to use the web2mail site that someone mentioned on here, but can't get on with my phone to sync up. Not sure why. I just downloaded Skyfire for my phone, so I don't know if that's why?

I've been searching for a couple hours now, and haven't been able to figure it out. I've reset my phone, reinstalled Activesync (though probably didn't matter). Just trying to figure out a way to save all my contacts. Even if I lose everything else, I don't really mind. Putting programs on the phone is simple, and have that saved already.

Is there somewhere in the explore folder that has all the contacts that I could just copy over.

Search for a program called pim back up and it will back up tx messages,call logs,contacts and more

So when I update the ROM, will it delete everything on the main memory, or does it save My Document stuff, etc...? For example will it erase the .cad files?

BTW the PIM Backup worked great so far...Seems like a good tool.

Alright I updated everything; Pim backup worked great :D

Now I'm just trying to figure out how to use the GPS on 6.1...didn't seem to work for Google Maps...will have to see...

ok for the gps make sure you go outside and use something like google maps in a clear area since the first time can take longer than expected to lock.
