Program Memory

What's up guys? I've been mad busy so I haven't had much time to check in. I hope I'm not asking a question that's been answered but I'm running TouchFlo 2D on my Mogul and now it's always running around 95%. At times, I can't start any other programs. What else I could possibly do to increase the program memory or find out what else is running unseen by the task manager? TouchFlo doesn't allow anything other plugins to run so I'm not sure why so much memory is being used. I have Swcked Mobile Shell and S2U2 but I didn't think they would cause so much memory usage. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Program Memory

manilla 2d is a serious app for the mogul. i would honestly hard reset and start from scratch .... if u had decked out your phone with swcked monile shell and installed a lof of stuff then put m2d... i ould hard reset and put m2d on first.

FYI: I BELIEVE WE HAVE CUSTOM ROM WITH THAT HAVE MANILLA2D COOKED IN...IF NOT WE HAVE CUSTOM ROMS WITH BETTER PERFORMANCE..

Re: Program Memory

Thanks. I am actually running the manilla on the 3.35.651.2 ROM version and I wasn't actually sure it would work. The hard reset is a tough one to do but I will consider it. You mentioned a cooked ROM. I will do a search and weigh my options with the custom ROM. Thanks!!!

Re: Program Memory

yea no problem... I no there is a CUSTOM ROM with MANILLA2D cooked into it... thats what i meant.. Just look in the ROM RELASES section.... I would read up on the reviews on it as I havent tried it.

I will definitely look into it. Homework is not fun but it is rewarding to have my phone where I want it. At least until I can get my Touch Pro. Can't wait!!!

its the tool i told ya about bro, where you choose to able or disable the camera as you wish saving 6+ megs of ram available, i had 32 megs after a hard reset, thats the reason i considered having the mogul again instead of getting another touch., Now i have it all :spyda: (dont answer that, i know you have a pro  ) lol

the only way to get it is to flash to nuerompre3 or nuerom-m http://www.nuerom.com

or you can cook your own with his kitchens which has exclusivity to the tool

I saw it integrated... didnt want to flash again .. I just flashed Kaos take5 and am running touchflo also... am waaaay happy with the setup.. just bugged about the lack of memory .. I get hung up running youtube or garmin.. if I could get the two of those running without having to reset.. I would be in heaven!!

Re: Program Memory

This is just me, but, I stopped using manilla 2d. It was just too much for my mogul even with nuekernal in high mem. I like to multi task. I'll tether while texting and using official sprint pic mail, and other things you may not do at the same time, but I would still run into low memory issues with my config to where pic mail refused to load, opera too. Using Oxios just defeats the purpose of multitasking(kills the tether connection among other things) I'm really hating my mogul because of the memory issues.

I'm running DCD 3.3.4 with HTC Home now and the only time I run out of memory is if I use Opera too much. I guess I need to find out how to have opera cache to my 8gb microsd lol. Otherwise I'm happy but I do miss the 2D interface. Touch Pro is the only true answer here though.

i get ya bro, i sometimes want to remove manila2d to have even more memory but since i have been so spoiled by it, i cant find a similar graphically pleasing interface to replace it that will make me not miss it. i was thinking of going back to blackdrop but i need animations and smoothness now cuz then will feel empty and outdated lol. Im waiting for WM7Ultimate for the latest throttlelauncher that its promised to be as graphically pleasing as useful (more info http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?p=2613707 ) but as of now, im having no issues with memory, but why not more?? :041:

what opera are you using?? cuz i had a problem that it will keep running in the background killing like 8 megs of ram even after its closed till you reset, i had this issue with later builds but i just fixed it and im loving 2808 more than ever

I'll have to check out that WM7U.

I'm pretty sure I'm running 2808. It's still beta isn't it? I still get random closings with it, and lingering high memory used after it is closed (70-80%)

thts the one i use and it had that bug , compare the before and after memory and check if you get all the ram back after closing it cuz it likes to keep it and suck your memory till you reset, heres the fix in case it happened to you

HKCU > Software > HTC > Taskmanager > TerminateProcess

Add a DWORD value with name "Opera9.exe", DWORD-value "1" and Base "Dec".

It worked for me. I hope it works for you.

i wish kaos would have cooked one more mogul rom with that tool cooked in, but he is a touch pro junkie now
