Well.... here is the deal..., I am curious to know what ROM our junkies are running that have a TOUCH PRO???? Please be specific on what version ROM and WHY you use it.... Thanks to all that participate...

I am running the kaos rom, just flashed tonight and all i can say is WOW!! :eat: This rom is plain amazing!! You notice the speed before the phone fully boots. Usually when you boot your phone it literally takes a couple minutes to boot up fully so you can calibrate the screen. On the kaos rom it took all of 30 seconds literally to get to the same point!! :guitar: On top of the TouchFlo 3-D running amazingly fast and smooth the whole phone does. Sounds great already right? Well it gets better. No matter how great the rest of a rom is, if there isn't stability the rom is garbage. BOY is there stability!! I haven't experienced any lockups or random lags anywhere!! (even with three programs running in the back) the only con i found (which will be fixed in the official release) is that at right now for some reasons two icons for each of the office programs (word, powerpoint, excel) when you go to choose your favorite programs. (this is not in your programs from the main menu though))

Right now I' running JDs latest ROM. I've flashed an ran every ROM available for the TP to date. My favorites would have to be Hibbys 1.7 and your last Beta Jew. Next to come, the highly anticipated Kaos ROM.

I'm running JD's TP7.1 ROM (props to Dashie) Works way better than stock. Only issue is that Google Maps (GPS) doesn't seem to work....yet. Koas's new ROM is next on my hit list....

I'm using a dumped stock rom right now until Kaos' comes out. I've been through almost all the custom roms, even on other forums. the one bug i absolutely hate is that S2U2 never works properly,,, only on the signed stock rom. idk y, but i have issues on every custom rom with it.

i had that issue before when i noticed i installed the wrong one..since i have the diamond, i installed the vga version and its working great both stock and custom.:roooox:

yea i have the VGA version... everything works fine on S2U2 until i try to change the theme... i have a .cab theme and the picture changes but then the slider gets tiny, but that doesn't happen on the stock rom. after a few minutes, the background picture then disapears, followed by the slider. same thing happens if i don't use a .cab theme

So Far I have ran BJ's Murder Very nice JD's Rom and I am currently Running with Hibby's I am really excited to see what Lord Kaos has in store for us.

I am running the stock ROM. I like to play with stock for a while just to see what the phone is really bringing. But I'll probably flash Kaos ROM once it drops. I used his ROMs on my Mogul, and loved them.

im right now on hibbys 1.7... i wanted speed and stability and the best i found was jds... after tying all the ones in the bigginning... i liked big jews murder but it had a little bit of stabiity issues for me... so b-4 swiching back to jds i tried hibbys cuz i wanted the second today screen for fun... i dont even use it lol... im just to lazy to flash back cuz the diff is minimal... im still looking into running it like i did on my mogul with htc home and ultimate launch at the same time as having tf3d on the other today screen( feeling a little nostalgic lol) ... but vga throughs a small wrench into that doesnt it... so im on the edge of my seat for kaos to launch his officially... unless he wants to pm me the beta even though im not exactly one of the top testers here at the site!!! lol cant wait cant wait cant wait!!!!

bro its simple look at all the noobs coming in here and doing it.... you will be fine if you follow the steps and it will only take you like 10 minutes to do max.... you could even do via storage card and make it that much easier on yourself...

Will give each of em a lil try but having the mogul, KAOS roms seem to always surprise me. I don't doubt that his up and coming one will disappoint. Getting my Pro tomorrow! YEss!!!

Im running stock rom with probex's alienware theme. I haven't really considered flashing to customs as I know there is no official stock rom out and don't know if using a dumped stock rom would be the same process as the other flashes I did on my mogul. If its as simple as before to get back to stock, then ill start flashing my tp :)

exact same thing as the mogul bro just a different unlocker (same process) and than the same with the ruu and all or storage card.

I have had my touch pro from Sprint for a month now and I must say that it is by far the best device I have owned. Definately better than the touch. My ppc-6700 was better than the touch. After playing around with Hibby's rom, i use JDTP7.1. Hibby's is quicker but not as stable. JD's rom just seemed to work best so far. From hacks and tweaks to custom. Thanks for all the hard work.

I would rate the current TP roms like this....:

1st.Kaos
2nd.Hibbys 1.7
3rd.JDs ROM

i havent been goin too strong lately.... my phone is so perfect right now i cant bear to reset.... i was thinkin of just makein a rom and throwin it up.... not goin to though obviously.... 1.8 will have an updated sys, updated d3d, and any oems i can scrape up

I just got my Verizon Touch Pro 9 days ago. I'm loving it and have already started to add new files. I'm still using the stock ROM, but am up for FLASHING some custom ROMs. Can I assume that these custom ROMs work all TPs? This is my first Smartphone, but I'm pretty savy PC and message baord user. I look forward to learning from you all and giving back where I can of course!

No, ROMS are not universal. You can only run ROMS that specifically say for VZW. So make sure you read them well before attempting to flash:)
