htc touch memory slot
 

i hope im posting this in the right section if not please forgive me but im wondering is it possible for me to use a 1gb micro memory card on my device I inserted it and it said card not installed so i got a 2gb card and it sid the same thing so i inserted the 512mb and it worked just fine cn some one help...............

yea that thing should work fine..... unless you are on a older ROM.... Make sure you are on the latest STOCK ROM for your carrier. It should support up to 16g micoSD if you have the latest Stock ROM.

ok now that may be a issue im not sure what stock rom i have but i know its whatever they offer when u buy the device has there been a update

it could be the card too because the stock rom on your phone no matter what version will be able to do 2 gigs and under since they are made with the same technology.... i feel the card is just bad.

thanks guys for all ur support i have 4 cards 2 512g cards and 1 1gb card and 1 2 gb card well sprint advance tech support told me that if the 2 512g cards are working fine then the 1 mb and the 2mb cards must be defective but those cards work on other devices so im gonna take my device and the cards in and let them figure it out thanks....

what other devices are they working on... it oculd be that those other devices formatted them in a way thats incompatible w/ ur touch now...

Im running mine w/ a 4 gig just fine... and had it since i was on wm 6.1 stock...still working w/ my custom rom now

ok update i took the card in and they switched me out and when i put the new card it worked fine but i think something wrong with my devices memory card slot too but im straight for the time being thanks

yes the memory card slot on the touch aka vogue (especially through sprint) is a known problem... if you bring it to a store they will swap it out and try to be sure that you are going ot be getting a new one not a refurbished since refurbed phones are known to carry problems 99.9% of the time.

I got confused :)

You keep mixing up 512mb, 1GB and 2GB cards.

Anyways, they are right, 2GB microSD is supported right away, no need to update your rom. Might be the phone or the slot then or maybe the microSD card itself isn't compatible with your Touch. Are you using Sandisk brand? Sandisk is a very good brand and thats the brand that came with my touch.

Okay sorry for the thread jack here but I'm having an issue to. Well, it's more of a user issue.

I put in a 16 GB card and I can't figure out where to go to see if it is reading the card. The phone says Expansion Slot: In Use in the settings. Does that mean everything is good or what?

I can't find anywhere where it says 16 GB of drive space or anything like that...

Again, sorry for the thread jack but I figured this would be a good spot to throw this question...

If your talking about for your Touch Start/Programs/File Explorer or File Explorer should be in the start menu. Here I would go read this thread Be careful search an post in the right thread
