[ ISSUE SOLVED ] Theme install question
 

Hello I'm a new member here and have no idea with computer or with phones. I've been looking around and from what I understand themes are like wallpapers and different looks, while roms are flashing your whole device and making it run differently. Since I have no experience with phone or much with computers, I think it's safe to stay with maybe changing the theme up on my htc touch pro from sprint. I've had a certain theme on my mind https://www.wckediden.com/showthread...light=Vodafone looks pretty cool. I found this by looking on youtube where there was a video of this theme .

So I've tried numerous times and I think that what I'm doing to my phone can't be to good since it's not working like I expected it to. So I start off my installing the zip file to my desktop on my computer. I extract it then place it under my storage card under "Themes," which I have created. I tired to open it up from there, nothing... I go to start, settings, today, and try to look for it, nothing... I've also tried to place the zip file in the "Theme" folder and extract it from there since my phone has a zip thingy mabobber...

Okay so after failing numerous times and a bit ashamed to ask this question I think it's only way I'll learn how to do it successfully. I've read through many threads and tried the meathods but nothing seems to work for me... If you could point me into a direction where I can be successful that would be great. Thank you and I look foward to reading your comments...

Go here... https://www.wckediden.com/showthread...ht=tf3d+config for the TF3D config tool. Just folow the instructions in that thread(including a video tutorial) and You'll be fine. And in the future, all links that lead outside of www.wckediden.com must be wraped in a code box. I did it this time for you, but try to remember in the future.

Thanks superman. I've still have a slight problem, I click on the link you gave me and clink on another on the next page. Seems as though I can not view it?

Have you join the member software group? If not, then you need to join it in order to download the app.

That is correct, you need to join the appropriate groups to be able to view all threads.

Ok i have downloaded the confg. Tool but now im stuck at how to put the theme on the phone...(touch pro)

If you go to the link LilDaisy posted the video is the first thing you see... its embedded in the post, you dont need a liink

Ok ive found out how to change it but now when i try to apply the theme and press start it gives me an error sayin no central directory.....help!

... no central directory? Not exactly sure what you mean... how are you trying to install this theme... through Diamond config tool? If so, you'd be better served to post this question there... but hav e you followed all the steps... created a theme folder on root of sd card, placed your .theme files in that folder, used diamond config tool, to go into themes and navigate to the folder you created, and pick the .theme file you want to use?

Yea i followed those exact steps...& yea i do have the diamond confg. Tool is that the wrong one to use on the pro??

Wait, diamond config? I think you mean tf3d config, correct? Like the diamond tf3d config tool, not the diamond tweak or anything, right?

hmmmm, i never had that error come up. Do you have the tf3d tool installed to your sd card or device?

If you followed the instructions in the video, and installed to your device, and are trying to install a valid .theme file, then you shouldn't be getting any error. Just uninstall and go back to step one and try again, only thing I can tell you.

OK WITH A VALID .theme FILE WILL U HAVE TO CHANGE IT TO .theme MANUALLY OR IT WILL ALREADY B IN THAT FORMAT???

Well, if it is a valid .theme, then you don't have to do anything. But sometimes, you will have to change it to .theme manually if it isn't already compressed that way. What theme are you trying to install?

thats a cab....should be fine just installin it.....you are installing it to your device right??? and not card??? try disabling tf3d then install cab and soft reset. then reload tf3d

ok, just go here https://www.wckediden.com/showthread...hlight=shakass and download the one that says "full cab". Then just out it on your card, use your device file explorer to click on the cab file, then select to install it to your device. Restart and you should be good.
