US Cellular PPC 6800
 

OK I tried unlocking my phone with the unlock program and now all I get is a a red, green, blue and white screen. Hard reset won't even fix it. I'm pissed and need help to get my phone back. My life was in this thing... HELP!!!!! What can I do?????

What unlocker did you use? If you used the wrong one you may have bricked your phone.

I found the hard reset and tried that. Guess what? Didn't work. I'm screwed aren't I?

What happened when you ran the unlocker? Did the progress bar show up and complete? Where did you get the unlocker? What does the text say on the screen when you have your phone on?

I ran it and eneded up with the screen I stated earlier. It says

Left side Right Side top

Ok, which ROM are you gonna try to flash? Unplug the usb and plug it back in and see if the "serial" changes to USB.

Well it won't connect anymore to active sync. Now what? And thanks for your help so far....

It does say usb at the bottom of the screen tho.

Ok, as long as it says usb at the bottom, you are connected to activsync. So continue with the flashing process. Do you have a blank RUU and the ROMs nbh file yet?

No all I have is the one file. What else will I need? Not sure what I am doing so all help would be great.

I have no rom and the file I have is the one that says it unlocks the phone?

I have been trying to get it to hook to active sync and I won't...

It wont say its connected on your comp, but as long as it says USB on the bottom, you ARE connected. You need to download a ROM that is US Cellular compatible and the RUU from the link I posted above.

OK, go here and download this
Just download it, then place it in the RUU that you just downloaded and choose to overwrite when prompted. After that run the RomUpdateUtility. Follow the onscreen prompts and let it do its thing. After its done, the phone will reset, you have to follow some more onscreen prompts, when your phone says "will perform customization in 3 sec....2 sec..."(it will be counting down), do a soft reset, just dont let it countdown and start. Then you need to install a US Cellular cab

OK, no matter what I try it won't find my phone. Am I doing something wrong? What order do I run this stuff and what files. Sorry for all the questions, kind of in a panic here.

Dude, I told you, it will NOT say your connected on your comp. As long as it says USB on your phone, you ARE connected. Did you download the ROM yet?

Ok, it did it's thing and now it is sitting on the htc start screen? Is that good? How long will it take before I get the countdown?

Well, I gotta go to bed, I got work tomorow. If this doesnt work, I'm pretty sure that you can flash Kaos Take 2 and it will work. You just have to put your phone into bootloader mode manually. We have a very helpfull staff and I'm sure if/when anyone of them see this they will chime in and help you and/or correct any mistakes I may have made or include steps I might have forgotten.

I am pretty sure sure I am still 6.0. Good ole US cellular. I will do what I can butg zI am sure I will have more questions tomorrow.

If your still 6.0, I would recommend flashing to your stock 6.1 rom, then try flashing a custom rom. Just follow the instructions for flashing stock from custom in the Flashing guide.

try this, its the newest as far as i know for your phone, hope it works outafter downloading, click and run the file, no ruu needed, just make sure battery is more than 50%, and usb is connectied to phone and computer

Youll prolly have to put the phone into bootloader (tri-colored screen) manually, then flash it. remember, as long as it says usb and not serial, you are connected.

Lol, dude I better be gettin like 50 thanks from you in this thread:) Press and hold the camera and power button the soft reset. That should take you to the bootloader screen.

Once ur in bootloader run the update utility tool thing in the file from ur pc and u should be good to go. As long as it says USB in the bootloader flashing will go easily. Lol but first upgrade ur radio then do the above

Ok bro your good to go now. Just act like none of this happened and flash the custom ROM again following the flashing rules and youll be set. No stuck at splash screen for you this time around!! :)

GPS should work for you now that you did the update, you may also want to do this, go to......start/settings/phone/services/location setting....and turn on.

Ok cool. So just one last question. Which custom rom do I want and will that unlock the gps function? I don't want to do all this over again.

The rom thing is your personal preference. You cant go wrong with a Kaos ROM though. And yes, your GPS should work.

with the stock rom you loaded gps should work, try the latest google maps app and try out the gps. as for the custom rom for your phone i would go with a KAOS rom, for you kaos take 3 hybrid for alltel is what id try out, is what i used when i had that phone.

Well the phone is up and running and I guess I need a reason to upgrade the rom to the kaos one now. My internet won't connect anymore but that my be a problem at my end? Also I couldn't send a picture message. But the GPS works and that's what I really wanted.
