Theyll customize your rom with that carriers network info, so that itll work w/ that network plans (data, etc)... mainly used for custom roms, that havent been built/customized for (whatever network you may be on)... like a Generic TP rom... made simply for touch pro, (by someone w/ verizon)... Id download the sprint carrier cab and install it so I can use the sprint network

yuppers you are correct.... the way i usually explain it just so you have two outlooks is when you first get the device and power it on you will have it boot up and than say customizing in 3......2......1.... those customizations that it does with adding the music store or navigation per say are included in the carrier cabs as well as some other carrier goodies.

So if I'm using the Star ROM this would be useful to install now, or should it only be used when you "first get the device and power it on...?" Does it improve phone performance?

on star rom you shouldnt have to install anything you should be good to go.... if your interent doesnt work thats when you woudl install this one..... does your net not work? and no it doesnt improve performance it gets your settings installed with having to do so manually.... you may want to raead fully efore you download and installl or ask questions since many questions have been answered dealing with these already.

I cant seem to get the Sprint cab to work?? Anybody have a link to a different one. When I try to run it on my phone after transfer, I just get a thinking icon that never goes away...

me personality i never used any of the carrier cabs i do mines internally..The basic that you need to know is your unlock code and your msid number once you have that everything else is cake walk.There are tutorials here that you can research on..

did you soft reset after install? they do work trust me........ and the repost of the same cab isnt going to do anything....

Actually I went back to the Rom Faq thread and they had updated there carrier cab. Installed and everything is great now! Not sure exactly what was wrong, but it worked this time.

cool glad that you got it!! now sit back and actually enjoy it before you get flashing to a new release of a rom hahah.... trust me it happens and you will itch to flash when you know there is an update out there for your rom or one your interested in.

Dash is correct the itch is hitting me now to flash NfSfan new one 0108 which I will do tommorrow muahaha running previous version and do not see what could be done better and now the carrier cab's great find thanks for future roms.

Once I got my unlock code from sprint I went in and wrote the msid down as a back up if vision or carrier cabs did not work with new roms.

I'm using kaos take 3 enhanced (my first flash........im so happy ....sniff) and per a tip from the man that is Dash i downloaded the alltel dcd carrier. I just tried to open the zip file and it says it's corrupted or isn't supported.

so i unzipped it from my pc and put the file on my phone. It doesn't recognize the file. Not sure what I'm doing wrong here. I tried searching for tutorials on dcds as well but couldn't find anything.

Turns out it was the browser. I tried to redownload but still a bad file. Firefox works A LOT faster and better with this website (I should've listened to the ad lol)

But what do i do with the cab after install? It installed and restarted my phone, but nothing's changed. No data connection or other customizations.

it will jsut give you the settings... so your saying that you cant get access to the net yet? you do have a data package dont you?

after you flashed were you sure that you took the battery out and hard reset? i would try to flash back to stock and relock your phone... than unlock again and than try to flash and than install the carrier cab again and see what that does.

Yeah after a couple of times not getting past the boot screen I took the battery out and hard reset. I didn't run the relocker app tho. Was I supposed to? But Ill try it again to see wht happens. Thanks Dash.
