Alternative to Gyrator / Screen tilt app
***Version 1.54 - There is a new version for download as of January 4th '09. This is the FASTEST rotation time I have been able to get (to me seems faster). Also fixed a few minor bugs / requests. please post your findings... Gyrator is a great app... with a load of functions but I found that I didn't really use any of them except the screen tilt/Gsensor function. That said one of the problems I had with Gyrator is that it always stayed in my open apps which is not THAT big a deal, but would just annoy the crap out of my OCD brain! Anyway I decided to make a different version for myself and anyone else who JUST wants the Screen tilt function. http://idevelopstuff.com/WM/Fuze/cha...screenshot.jpg This appliaction will: - allow you to stop and start the screen switch as you please - start up with your device if desired - allow exceptions (Opera is an exception by default because it already uses the Gsensor) * I recommend if you use Tomtom to add that in a well (to avoid the screen switching when you hit a bump!) - NOT show up in the running programs list! (Most important thing to me!) - You also do NOT need to install .NETCF 3.5 to use this. It should run fine on 2.0! PS - I have no idea where I found the origional "Sensors" dll that I tweaked for this app but when I figure it out ill add it to this post. |

Re: Alternative to Gyrator / Screen tilt app
Just an fyi, you can make it so gyrator does not show up in your running programs/task manager by going to the task manager settings and adding gyrator to the exclusive list. To do this open up your task manager settings and click and hold the gyrator text and when the menu pops up select "add to exclusive" and bam! no more gyrator in the running programs list. Hope this helps

Re: Alternative to Gyrator / Screen tilt app
just installed this application and it works perfect except for one question. i notice with gyrator installed and you're on your home screen of your phone, turning the phone side ways activiates the eight icon grid that comes out like when you slide keyboard out. with your application turning the phone sideways doesn't bring out that same grid. instead it shows the same home screen with some distortion on the end where the scrolling bar would normally be. don't get me wrong the application is good. i love it. i was just wondering if maybe you could fix that problem to where the eight icon grid does come up. thanx again and keep up the good work!
