March 03, 2009 New Version 0.92

A new edition of iContact is ready for download, v0.92, which adds beautiful new VGA skins, Touch sensor scrolling for the Diamond (thanks l3v5y!), better language support for "Favorites" category, easier language installation, and some bugfixes.

How to use the diamond touch sensor? Hold your thumb on the middle of the dpad, then tilt the phone up or down. Release your thumb to stop the scrolling

Here's the full list of improvements:

  • Added support for True VGA skins
  • Made true VGA versions of default and iphone skins
  • Removed iphone skin from default install .cab file
  • Moved skin colors to skin.png file; eliminated .skn files
  • Sped up graphics in Settings
  • Cleaned up unused code in Settings
  • Fixed display bug with 320x320 screens
  • Added touch and wheel sensor scrolling for diamond (thanks l3v5y!)
  • Now stores settings in registry, removed settings.ini
  • Restored d-pad right arrow to send SMS for selected number
  • Reduced iContact.cab file size by 20%
  • Added "Favorites" category to language file
  • Improved "download more skins..." and "download more languages..." web pages
  • Reworked and greatly sped up list reload time
  • Added contact categories!
  • Better touch feedback (area touched is highlighted in blue)
  • Updated skin titlebar to match iDialer
  • Removed TitlebarBackground, TitlebarSignal, TitlebarText from .skn file, they're now calculated from the .png
  • Better integration with iDialer (now able to change iDialer service from iContact)
  • Fixed bug with incorrect call log details sometimes being displayed
  • Optimized graphics routines for faster, smoother scrolling
  • Fixed bug with Exit on Minimize sometimes not exiting
  • Fixed bug with settings icon in control panel
  • Fixed bug with scrolling: click once to stop scrolling, click again to open contact
  • Added "-add" command line option
  • Fixed called party name display when not used with iDialer
  • Added better iDialer detection if iContact and iDialer not installed on the same memory (thanks l3v5y)

Re: iContact 09 [Jan 10 09] Categories speed edition

does the categories thing work like "filter by company" in the standard wm6.1 contacts?

i just need that functionality as i have several contacts under a particular company so when i filter by that company then i see just those particular contacts.

cheers!

im not sure about that either. back when i used manila2d it automatically replaced the standard wm contacts in the "all people" link, but not sure about manila3d cuz i dont have a pro. you can check if you can edit the link in diamond config tool ( just guessing)

I was able to download from the supware site and install. Not sure if the version here got corrupted in download or something else weird. V I P, you might try snagging from the supware site and see if it works.

And Taylor, in my case at least it never got to the prompt. Would just start the usual installing message, then immediately put up Installation Was Unsuccessful. I tried the usual soft resets and all that jazz but couldn't get it to work until I snagged from supware.

Now, if someone can just figure out how to hack the People TF3D tab to replace the all people link. :D

Yeah, tried the cab posted first. Not sure what the deal was. Uninstalled .91, soft reset, and got the Installation Unsuccessful message. Downloaded again, same message, soft reset, same message, downloaded from Sup, worked. May have just been a glitch in there, really not sure.

Re: iContact 092 [Mar 03 09] Now With Scroll Sensor

Thanks, just installed this on my newly acquired diamond :thumb:

For those wanting to map iContact to the "all people" soft button, here are the instructions:

1. Disable TF3D(Settings|Today and uncheck TF3D)
2. Run ssMaPa
3. On config screen make sure you have TouchFlo 3D selected(depending on version you may not have this tab)
4. Goto Init tab, press Init and wait for it to bring up listing of programs(I dunno if Extended Init needs to be checked or not, but i have done it with and without it checked)
5. Highlight "Replace Poutlook"
6. Checkmark "Patch Enabled"
7. In the "New Program" field put /Program Files/iContact/iContact.exe (note the FORWARD slashes / as opposed to \)
8. In the "Arguments" field put a $
9. Press "Save"
10. Press the Deploy tab
11. Press Deploy Patch.
12. You should get a a message about unsigning a file and if ssMaPa should try to do this. Press "Yes".
13. Once it's done, reenable TF3D and it should work.

for links that are for downloads bots dont get to them which means that they stay up on rapidshare, megaupload, etc longer before being taken down for illegal content... and for the others we need to otherwise google can take away the ads on the side bars of the site which helps pay for the server costs meaning that we would need more than double the donations just to stay up and alive..... hope this explains it a little better for you.

yep, sure does :thumb:

Quick iContact question,
Is there any version or any way to put a big X button on the top corner? This app is great but exiting it can be frustrating, I know you can click the top corner, but that doesn't really exit it.

I may be wrong but if you check the setting menu you can check "exit on action" I think it minimize by default

That is absolutey correct. I get why they're concerned about that though because sometimes I'll open the app on accident because i've set another version as one of my two keys at the bottom of the screen and when you don't have the intent on using it them even the slightest difficulty having to close it can become quite the annoyance.
