Need Everyone's Help
 

I normally don't do this, but it has come to a time that i really need your help.Sometime last night the power to my house went down so i thought it was the whole neighborhood going to apower issue like we did last year.But i found out that it's my house so looking into it. i seen that one of the wire's going to the box was toast (burn) so i had to cut not me but my father in law...lol and put a temp line in to turn the power back on.

Long story short if i would have replaced the power supply box that i had ,then you wouldn't notice the power outage...but the old one is so old it wont hold the charge anymore and i needed a new one.

So basically through the financial situation the money that i have is going to revert to fixing my electrical issues at home.And basically i need your help with any sum of donations to buy a power supply box for the server so when the power outage occurs it will picky back of the power box...

lol yup i agree 100% w/ ya...once i pay to fix one thing another thing breaks....sucks but nothin you can do about it....i had to replace one of those my self a few months back....it was to our power supply to our well and it blew up...lol crazy....what kind of power supply was it?....

it's a backup power box. i bought it years ago.Its when you loose power to a business,house or what ever it can run off the power box.Think of it as a power generator but smaller ..

you know i got you brother.....Friday is payday and my paypal is instant..something coming your way.....on another note that link looks like its a max of 1hr....wouldn't it be more cost effiecent for a small generator? I can walk you through how to wire it in the main panel box...I do it all the time.....

yea i thought about it,actually my brother in law had suggested it..the only thing with that is since i live in a roll home area in the neighborhood my neighbors will report me to L and I (license and inspection) so that's why i went with the that box..actually the model 800 is 3 hours..that was an example i posted to show how it looks.

alright.... ill be honest... i have a few in a closet in a spare ROOM. I have family in from NY that are staying in the room. I will get to it this weekend. IF I FORGET, PLEASE SEND ME A PM or whatever and ill look............ No stress bro, anything for Wckediden and to keep my family together, cause without out Wckediden there is no HOME for us!

ok... i got ya.... i have an idea..... here is what ya do.... buy the same one through your old one in it..... return it and problem solved.... just say you couldnt believe what a POS this thing was, not even 24hrs of using it and it burnt up.....they will tell you to exchange it, but just as for your money back.... :lol: yes i know, i am jewish

Dude - sorry to hear about the issue.

Just a few things for you to think about before you dish out big bucks for another APC. We run our entire shop off of one 5KW generator. We use the APCs for regulated power supply to our PCs and some of the testing equipment we use. One thing though, we have removed the small battery and hooked 4 of the 12~24V deep cycle 2400 CCA batteries inline instead. They will keep my PC and some of the stuff on my bench lit for almost 12 hours. Depends on how much I use stuff.

Gel Cells like what they use for car stereo, Optima, will work too. One of my guys down here has hooked a BatCap to his, because he doesn't have his ride running right now. Since the hurricane last year, we have had to figure out how to make things work without the grid.

First off, you know that APC produces a white page and that you can trade yours in, so long as it's an APC (I think) for credit off of a new one. Check out their website.

Before you go and buy a new one, have you tried to check for a public auction for county/city/state stuff? We have one here (Houston), and most municipalities are doing them now. Can't have the employees taking taxpayer dollars home, so they are putting them up on the web. We picked one up from the City of Houston two years ago, and it's still working. Plus, with all of the companies going out of business, there are some on CL too.

Can you PM me with a size that you were looking at? May be able to help find one local to me and getting one of my drivers to bring it close to you.

Offer still stands, if you want a bigger one.

Pulling the baby battery out and modding to accept a big one or four, is not that hard to do, if you feel like you want to do something like that for more run time.
