MONTHS AGO, IF YOU WOULD HAVE READ IT COMPLETLY YOUR TEXT WOULD HAVE ALREADY BEEN CHANGED..

IF ANYONE WANTS TO CHANGE THERE "START TEXT" ON THERE OWN SEE THIS THREAD OTHER THEN THAT ALL REQUESTS CAN BE POSTED HERE . . .

Change Start text

Open the file named shellres.dll.****.mui and go the String value 321 change the name, compile script and save then sign with MSsigner and put in /Windows; Enjoy !!

Here are instructions for anyone needing or that would like to try themselves like me. I know theres another thread for icons (which i have completed) and this title says text. There are some out there that could save your precious time and try themselves. You should really specify your threads to limit confusion.

i think the vga 1 worked...its suppose to be the original windows icon right??
what size should i make the pic for the vga icon??

Lmao.. No i didnt get to have it cab'd so install the attatched cab, softreset then drop the vga icon in ur windows folder softreset again and it should work.. My bad got alot going on in my head..

if this icon works ill need to see a screenshot so i can see how it looks this vga icon is 22x22

i dont think the vga icon works, but i mite be doing it wrong cuz ive never done it before, can somebody else try/confirm

i added a cab file for the vga test icon. install and soft reset, as for the start text ill see what i can do.. thanks for testing..

i get "crzy_dmn 9sicks" cannot be installed
to try installing again to a different location
i tried installing to device & storage card but i get that with both

copy/paste to /windows folder, softreset and POW!!
if it doesnt work let me know and ill reName it depending on ur rom..

**1st one wasnt spelled wright so try this..

hey nine, VGA device here and i was thinking instead of start have it say D/\SH.|

and for the start image if you would be kind enough could you make it a 8 ball with an orange center? if you cant do that latter one dont feel bad or worry about it..... thanks in advance buddy :>

u want it to say " D/\SH" or "D/\SH.|" with the ".|" at the end ??
the 8ball with the black ball, orange center with the 8 inside of it ?

sure i can do that asap im guessing for the tp ??.. but if i do the start icon it will revert probex start icon/task bar so ull have the icon/text but stock taskbar.. f.y.i

Yes for the pro.....that's fine.....it didn't change the start text that you made me when I change the icons. Also it won't change the text that you made me right? They both can work at the same time.

ok, cool.. give me 20, the NAME and the ICON are both on different files. so yes they will work together as seen here:

but the ICON and the WAIT CURSOR are on the same file.. so the start icon im gunna make will have the stock wait cursor or vista upon request

ok D/\SH my man.. one 8ball orange center fresh off resource hacker.. its named to fit in mighty rom, so if ur not running mighty u can just rename it..

ok, chauleyb : start/start icon.. depending on what rom ur running, if u have problems installing this u will have to rename to (start icon)SHELLRES.192.DLL.0409.MUI or SHELLRES.192.DLL (start) SHELLRES.DLL.0409.MUI OR SHELLRES.DLL

yo... it looks good, but can u make Florida white instead of black... you cant really see it when you have a black taskbar... Also, is that the only font you can make> I would like to have old English (hieroglyphics) font if you can? thanks for taking the time nine!

the only way to change the FONT is by using this program. hope it helps

... as far as the honda logo i tryd to get it as good as possible.

thanks if i upload the start icon file from 6.5 can u make 1 with that one cuz if i use another 1 it changes the loading icon

im not to sure how the shellres works on the 6.5 but go ahead and attach it and ill see what i can do.. as of now i can skin the cursor it to look like the pix below. i can also accept custom cursors but it will take longer to make..

thats a nice load icon..i can do with out the 6.5 1, do u know which file makes the x icon because when i change the task bar on 6.5 the x & ok icons get really small
