Touch Pro Battery Life Observations
 

Ok, so we've got comments about this in various threads, but I figured I'd try and start a place to condense them a bit.

What config/rom/radio/all that stuff are you using, and what kind of battery life do you see?

Obviously, I can't judge too much yet as I'm stuck on stock rom until evdo issue is resolved, but right now calling the battery life crap would be an epic understatement.

Stock rom, Beam Off, BlueTooth off or on (tried both), S2U2 about the only active extra app installed, and I'm lucky to get 6 or 7 hours with only light use. Today, with almost no usage at all (2 calls and tweaking a few settings with about 4 resets), I still only got about 10 hours before the charge battery warning popped up.

It's possible that both batteries they sent me are needing the proverbial calibration, but I haven't tried that yet.

Ya know.. thats not really that noobish of a question but the only way is flash a feew ROMs and see what works out for ya... I a mean ya wanna have the latest radio (1.11) and most of the custom ROMS have battery tweaks in them.... So to answer your question fully is really hard... I mean are you asking for just a tweak to do on your stock ROM to make the battery life longer? Are you asking what are some good recommendations on some ROMs?

Actually, just looking for comparisons of what people get with their various setups and what those are. For example, I believe Dash mentioned he was getting 24 hours + using Juggalo's rom with the Telus radio.

Once Sprint gets my issue resolved, I'll be trying some out, but figured I'd try and see if there are any average patterns or the like. What I find odd is that the stock rom is THAT bad. I mean I know it's got tons of crap and all, but 6-8 hours if you actually use the thing? That's just plain silly.

Yes it is silly and thats why we are here.... Its always been silly... NOT DOING WHAT YOU WANNA DO.... In any case... Juggalos ROM is great I am using it and i also added a REG tweak... I can go ATLEAST 12hrs with constant use.. emails, apps, TV, etc. I remember the other night, i had 10% batt life and I played the movie FRIDAY and i almost got 3 quarters of the way before it finished and then the batt warning came on. But there are more ROM and other things that people want and look for. Thats why there are so many.... To your question.. is very very broad...

Yeah, I had tweaked the ever lovin crap out of my Mogul until I got it where I liked it. I'm loving the Pro so far, but definately got some work cut out getting it set up once I can.

i get about 26 hours with the newest juggalo rom with the telus radio as you have said above. i have 10-15 aftermarket apps (a lot stream from data package) do a lot of emails (pushed to my phone and respond) also do a lot of texts, light surfing of the net, a few yotube videos, medium talk time, etc...... i feel that the juggalo and telus is hte best mix for my uses right now..... but as jew basically said above each ro will get different battery life under certain uses for each user..... so tis going to be trying out but hell at least you will be having some recommendations to go off of.

Thanks Dash, and yeah that's the idea. Well that and the research analyst in me likes to track patterns, can't help it. :D

The better news is that a tier 2 tech called me back today who had me do a full rsn (rsl? can't remember the acronym now) reset. We'll ignore the fact that I had requested that of the very first tech I spoke with 2 days ago. In either case, it actually worked and I can establish evdo connection speeds now, so I'm finally up off and running with this handset. Woot!

Well, after a week using Juggalo's rom with the newest Sprint radio, I'm getting about 16-18 hours with fairly moderate usage. I can live with those numbers. Synchronizes with Exchange server ever half hour during business hours, bluetooth on the whole time, location on, beam off, moderate amount of calls and data usage, plus an hour or so Sudoku time. :)

i agree except 1.12f is now the newest radio my brother...Been on it for a week now..

mine trippled in lasting from 6.1 to 6.5. improved for me.

yes. a common issue with 6.5. varys from custom rom to custom rom.


mine did to on the mighty rom. stock sucked the life from my phone, but MR5 had the best battery life.

NRG isn't bad. The battery life various with use, but I'm getting about 12 hours of moderate to heavy use.

i have noticed way better myself but as godslunatk (hahahha i had to) stated already it depends on roms with all versions of windows mobile.... the hacks that the cooks do vary from cook to cook and some have it down better and some dont for battery wise... you just got to flash and test and read the threads on the roms and you will find your answers and find the rom that is perfect for your style of use.

it various rom by rom as stated already.... it also depends on what radio you are running and it all depends on the area also......
