Force landscape mode
Is there a registry fix or something to force the 6800 into landscape mode always? I know you can go to screen and change it to landscape, but once you pull out the keyboard and slide it back, it automatically adjusts to portrait. Not only do I have to manually return it, but it takes a good 15 second or so to switch views, as I have the Vista wisbar desktop running. I don't want to map it to a button, I just want to know if there's any way to keep it in landscape even when the keyboard is slid back in. I've searched the web for this with no luck. Thanks for any help.

here ya go man.....
Landscaper724 The app must be launched manually and left to run in the background. Normally, when the phone wakes, it checks the keyboard position and will set the screen orientation state accordingly. This app has to wait for the system to redraw the screen after the phone wakes. It has a slider to let you set how long it will wait for the redraw. If the redraw hasn't finished after that time, the app will retry for up to another 4 seconds before giving up. What that means is, if you have a today screen with lots of complex plugins, you should set the delay slider to the high side, because all that stuff will take longer to redraw. |
Re: Force landscape mode
Thanks for helping, but the file causes an error when I try to run it on my computer. Looks like another dead end...

Never mind, I'm an idiot. You just put it straight on the phone. Sorry about that. I'll mess around with it and see if I like it. Thanks.

Re: Force landscape mode
Well, it's not quite doing it for me. I want it to not even register that I closed the keyboard and thus not switch to portrait at all. It is going to portrait, then switching back to landscape sometimes and I think I'm really just looking for the unattainable by asking for this. I read somewhere that it may be coded into the keyboard's driver and there's not much we can do about it. Thanks for trying, but it takes just as long to switch back and isn't really what I'm looking for.

landscape 0x00000001 (1) portrait 0x00000000 (0) but....settings in the device prompt it to reverse it once you open close the keybard....all i have to do is either disable that registry so it will not revert back to portrait or delete the value of portrait mode all together.....but that wouldn't be the best idea because some programs are not supported in landscape.....it is very possible to do, i and i know if i could take a look at the registry i could make it happen.....but again it's not the best thing to do......mappin the hard buttons would be the ideal way.... |
