i like it!! smooth animations, lite, stylish and landscape support. but its a beta and the watered down free version so it doesnt have all the features like contact cards, more applets (widgets), comm manager, and profile controls

im back running touchflo3d cuz it still offers more, but i dnt uninstall pointui in case i feel like something different. its as easy as an uncheck and check

Re: (11 feb 09) Point UI Home 20 is availble NOW (the wait is over)

so far the free one is cool as shit and depending on the full feature list ill probably buy the pro, i think this is the freshes ui to come out in a while espcially with the stuff they improved from the first one

Just letting everyone know, so there's no confusion, assuming they reach the same problem I did:

This app must be installed to the phone, not storage.

i luv it, this app is cool as hell so far, few problems like my city not being there and in celius, but just have to change that in notepad and put back on phone but othere than that seems nice and smooth...

Re: (11 feb 09) Point UI Home 20 is availble NOW (the wait is over)

I gotta say, Im really enjoying this current incarnation of point UI... Its a beautiful set up, and nice change from TF3D... And I gotta say, the difference between my systems speed, and stability is staggering... Like, WOW!

I mean, i was quiete happy w/ how my pro function on the TF3D... after some tweakin and such it was fine, but I geuss, when TF3D is shut off for use of another UI, you can blatenly tell the difference (which I have, but hadnt experienced till now) still there are so many feature of TF3D that I miss, like my music tab, program launcher weather and calander, still its a very nice change of pace, that Ive set up my system to add a shortcut on my program launcher to launch Point UI, when I need a change of pace, w/o completly removing my TF3D, and just close out of it through task manager when I need to go back to TF3D...

Looking forward to the free version, but hard to imagine it gettin much better

Mike, went ahead and updated for ya bro. Just keepin the site nice and neat like you said. Hope ya don't mind.

Build 2.0.28e

Released: 20 Mar 2009
This release is primarily a bug fix for hardware key related problems introduced with 2.0.28b. The following changes have been made:
  • Hardware keys working properly (except dodgy X1 soft keys - they are coming through as random app keys not normal soft keys so we have reported this to Sony, but it looks like we will need to build in a work around specifically for the X1 devices)
  • Volume keys working properly even in full screen mode
  • Favorites folder got from system so it works for non-english roms
  • Added into font rendering to pick white/black shadow based on text color
  • Fixed OK button - well, just no longer handle it in Home - apparently only one thing can control it and it was stopping normal behavior outside of Home
  • Customize option for position of buttons on home screen
  • Customize option for notification icon

BUMP BUMP NEW RELEAS OUT 2030
ADDET BELOW

Build 2.0.30b

Released: TBA

This release provides some powerful scripting enhancements to allow more complex applets to be developed. It also introduces support for Variable Sized applets that can resize themselves to make use of the extra space on widescreen devices.

Variable Sized Applets

Applet devs, please see site for-variable-sized-applets

Unicode Support

This will be the first release to provide support for unicode languages such as Russian. There may be a few issues with particular languages, so let us know if you encounter any problems.

Themes: Horizontal Signal and Battery Indicators

Home will now detect if the images used for the battery and signal indicators on the soft keys are wider than they are high - and if so will place them horizontally. This allows for theme creators to design themes looking like the "screenshots", I mean Photoshop mockups of WM7 - with the battery and signal bars at the bottom of the soft keys.

Scripting: Support for Pointers

As applet devs start building more complex applets, the need to make use of better organized code has resulted in custom classes being created. However, until now the scripting engine has been limited in how it can work with these classes. So, the support for pointers has been added to allow references to other objects. This allows custom objects to be passed around between methods and between objects. See http://docs.pointui.com/Pointer

Scripting: Gps Class (Pro only)

We have provided access to the GPS with a new Gps class. At present you can get basic information such as Longitude, Latitude, Speed, Heading, and Altitude, as well as handle a changed event to be notified when new location details are available. In the future we will extend this functionality, but there is enough there now for applet developers to begin integrating some GPS functionality.

Scripting: DateTime Class Improvements

For details on the new features please see:

Scripting: 'null' Support

Support has been added for the 'null' keyword, but will not be fully usable until future enhancements are made to add default assignment operators.

Here are some Pointui apps that I found helpful.
I'm not sure if I got my Thread-making-ability taken away or if i'm just missing something. but here you go. Please someone help me out if this needs to have it's own thread.

Binary clock for your Binary time telling fun
Exit button
Comm manager for managing your wifi/data/phone
Calendar is a good one but I had to find a patch
TFdetacher.cab i use to toggle between tf3d and pointui

**remember the pointui files must be unzipped and dropped into programfiles/home2/appleribbon**Then you will be able to add that to your pointui **

I just found these and loaded them so for any extra app or information look here
Code:

http://community.pointui.com/forum/applet-showcase
I think that does it, let me know if this was good or not!

I was wondering about these UI Apps. Using Swcked Shell now, but I find it a little slow and lagging at times. Wanted to give this a try, but I assume that having too many of these UI apps could present a conflict. Is it not wise to have this and Swcked Shell at the same time?

basically you can have as many as you can fit but the more that you have on your devices memory the more that the device lags of course...... but since you can only fit one on your screen to use at a time you have to deactivate the ones that you dont want to use and activate the one that you do and than go from there.... hope this makes sense for you and if you have further questions feel free to ask.
