Re: DA Madd Scientist: ONYX THEME

This might sound weird.....but I just installed this them and it made my phone faster somehow. I had probex's stone chrome killer on before and for some reason even with quickmenu I would click on start/settings/system and I would get my wait icon for a couple seconds.....now there is no wait at all and it immediately responds.....I can't explain this but I am pleased with it. This theme is bangin tho.......cool slider.

definatly diggin the icons and designs.... godzson and hiz boy did a real nice job on this one!

--------- New Post Merged on 13/2/2009 at 09:00:06 --------

Only thing buggin me is that the tabs seem hardwired into the theme... cant seem to move or get rid of certains tabs... even after usin diamond config... anyone else noticing this?

you go to the settings tab in tf3d, select wallpapers and it will be in your documents folder.

i already told you it wasnt in the tf3d config....its in the actual tf3d theme.....you slide it to SETTINGS.....and select wallpaper. from there go to my documents and you will find it.

Wow this theme is sick, it change my tf3d theme a lot. It gets rid of the calendar and call history on the home screen and changes the view when you slide through the icons. Really nice!! Plus is has a lot of wallpapers to choose from. I'm impressed! :>

yeah, this is a pretty nice theme. only thing i don't like is that your custom name doesn't show up on the home screen. but other than that is badass.

the theme is for shure badass.. I like where it adds the call/text buttons under "people," but I'm running into problems with TF3D crashing when I go to the weather tab... anyone else having that problem?

I haven't had one problem with it crashing....it's been my experience that if TF3D crashes is because of the custom rom that you running....also I have the pro and not the Diamond

nah im not experiencing this at all, actually the icons in the tab looks a bit over stretched on my phone....so many versions of tf3d out there it gets confusing sometimes to choose which version of tf3d is the one u have...but like I say, trial and error lol

i seen a file over at ppcgeeks that utilizes the cfc compression(basically compresses all themes to cfc)....so i will look 4 that and add it to first post 4 ppl like broski who seem to have a stretched version of tf3d themes......if its not in a cab i will cab it up....give me a bit since i just woke up and it will be here soon.....

Yea it'll work with the config tool, just be sure to soft reset when done.

I had the same issues... solution is fairly simple..

deactivate TF3D... start menu>today>items (uncheck/deactivate TF3D)... now while TF3D is deactivated, use the tf3d config, to uncheck/remove, or just move the tabs around to your liking... then go back to you today settings and reactivate TF3D after you've made changes, (if it still doesnt work try soft reseting before reativating TF3d) and all should be well... this theme doesnt seem to like implementing changes made while TF3d is active.... you should be good after that

OK i did some diggin and have confirmed this is COOKED IN unless someone knows how to changed a read only manila file " 26948339_manila" we wont be able to remove those 2 tabs... i like most am running the juggalo rom and it is built in to this , i have extracted this file and changed it , put it back on the phone and i CANNOT overwrite the old one , as it is write protected .. :( However it is changed in the other : 26948339_manila_disabled file that the TF3d config tool makes... so if we can get this one file to be allowed to be modified from juggalo , we could easily change the orders and remove AND add tabs if we wanted ...

just thought you all would like to know the facts... maybe one of you admins could ask him to make the rom with just this one thing changed ... :glasses1:

thanks guys

Did you try overwriting the original manilla with your custom one using total commander? Also, you can try adding .bak to the original, adding the new one, then deleting the .bak one....all using total commander or resco file explorer. Try it and let us know.

Re: DA Madd Scientist: ONYX THEME

NO MORE COMM AND PROFILE!!! WOO HOO!!

TO THOSE TRYING THIS , you can seriously hose you stuff if you dont know what you are doin ..

first thing to do is copy out the " 26948339_manila " file to your computer .. open with NOTEPAD and you will see this in the middle of the page ( VIEW BELOW ) , just REMOVE the tabs 12 and 13 or what the communication and profile tabs are .. then save the file , send it back to your device , with resco go into the windows folder on the original , highlight it and click properties , UNCHECK READ ONLY , then rename the file to append .bak on it .. now find the CHANGED manila file , copy it to the windows folder and overwrite the existing if prompted , then simply delete the .bak you created , soft reset and voila!!
thanks

NO MORE COMM AND PROFILE!!! WOO HOO!!

TO THOSE TRYING THIS , you can seriously hose you stuff if you dont know what you are doin ..

first thing to do is copy out the " 26948339_manila " file to your computer .. open with NOTEPAD and you will see this in the middle of the page ( VIEW BELOW ) , just REMOVE the tabs 12 and 13 or what the communication and profile tabs are .. then save the file , send it back to your device , with resco go into the windows folder on the original , highlight it and click properties , UNCHECK READ ONLY , then rename the file to append .bak on it .. now find the CHANGED manila file , copy it to the windows folder and overwrite the existing if prompted , then simply delete the .bak you created , soft reset and voila!!
thanks

Re: DA Madd Scientist: ONYX THEME

:yahoo: yeah i had a vendetta against those things!!!! lol! i think i explained it well enough for anyone to try and remove them as well , but the main thing is if you wanted to CREATE new tabs then you could easily do it by modding these files ... ie a "games" tab or whatever , plus you can rename your tabs with this !! lots of potential for making your phone truly YOURS ..

Re: DA Madd Scientist: ONYX THEME

i had probex"s stone crome theme before this one and it was nice but this one has it beat with the landscape tf3d and the calander tab, plus a few others, and the fact that i dont see "probex" stamped on almost every tab (not dissing probex i think he does a kick ass job). just not into labels.

This is what you should have done since you went from cab to config....disable tf3d...uninstall the cab....soft reset. If tf3d loads on start up disable it again and go to tf3d config and load this new theme....i believe i posted a cab if im not mistaken and if i didnt i will asap.....
