Help me Buttons wont work
 

Hey guys.

I have had the kaoss take 5 rom for several months and it has worked great.

Now for some reason most of my buttons do not work at all. On the face of the phone, only the directional pad will work. Nothing else will work, including the call and hangup buttons.

The camera button doesn't work, the comms manager button doesn't work. The 'voice commander' button doesn't work.

The jog wheel works and the soft power button on the side works.

I have done soft resets, but nothing is changed. I have not tried a hard reset yet because I still have to backup my data.

Has anyone else experienced this? This is purely ridiculous because I cannot call a number that is not in my contacts. I can type it in on the keypad (on screen) but there is no way to call it! I must create a new contact just to get the number into a workable point from which I can call!

This is horrible. I have insurance, but I do not want to deal with that crap.

Sounds like there is something corrupted... i wouldnt be looking to use the insurance. you may want to try sktools to clean any corrupted files. if the problem persists, then the best bet is to HARD RESET and start over after you back up your stuff. If it bothers you that much , thats the route i would take.

I just backed up all my contacts and did a hard reset.

Buttons still do not work. One thing that amazes me is that 2 of the buttons for the 'hard reset' are buttons that 'do not work'. Wtf?

Please let me know if there is something else I should do before I call it in.

i was going to say the same thing as jew.....the only other thing i can think of is that the internal files got corrupted and need a reflash of the stock rom.... i would try that and see if that fixes your problems........ if not it will be off to getting you a new phone. and why not take a look at the upgrade to a touch pro thread for free and get yourself a touch pro in exchange for only your mogul!!! trust me it works i and hindreds if not thousands of other members havfe experienced luck with this method.

Or your board got jammed outta position. That happened to me when I had the mogul, I droped it and the board got pushed outta wack and the buttons stopped working.

Dash. I know you would know where to find it. Where is the information available for how to return a modded ROM mogul back to stock.

I'm following your advice from a thread on here that directed to these instructions:
In following those, apparently I will need to mail my current mogul to sprint. I assume I will need to have the stock rom and rom-loader back in place. I know this is possible but I don't even know where to start looking for that info here on Wckediden!

In filling out the online form it resulted with the following (I clicked CANCEL REQUEST so I can wait for further guidacne from you guys),.

you would have to try again and wait to see if they get them back in at your warehouse.... they wont last very long so keep checking... also i will attach the relocker for the mogul so you do have it.... run it the same way that you did the unlocker..... than after you do that go to and you will find the stock rom.

im having the same problem mostly. only its just my green button thats not working. when i press it it wont go to the phone dialer. and when i get a call it wont answer. the rest of the buttons on the front face and all the side buttons work. its just the green one. gets annoying. any ideas on how to fix it? ive already tried to go into aebuttons and change it there but no luck.

try reflashing..if that doesn't work..pm me..i have a mogul near perfect condition for 100....needs port pins repaired...if you take the 2 you could make one perfect...

ya it is...but hardware is hardware....flashed and unlocked its good to go..lol...shoot i could even esn it to your current...

haha thanks. well i did a hard reset and the button works now. it had been a while since ive done it. but idk why the button stopped working. strange. thanks anyway tho. and that mogul is prob the gray one right? alltels is black and i like the black better.

Update: I reflashed the Kaos rom. Same buttons still dont' work.

And like I said before, its strange I am allowed to do hard reset, yet the two buttons on the front that are required for a hard reset DO NOT WORK while the fone is actually in use.

Let me list all the buttons that dont' work:
OK button (on the side)
Voice-Activation Button (near the OK one)
Mail Button
Internet Explorer Button
Green Call Button
Red Hangup button
Windows button
OK button (on front)
Both 'dot' buttons (the ones for a hard reset)
Camera Button
Comms Button (the one that goes to Comm Manager)


W T F. HOW DO THE DOT BUTTONS WORK FOR HARD RESET BUT NOT WORK ANY OTHER TIME!

All the buttons light up like normal too.

sounds like hardware if you ask me.... i would flash back to stock and bring it into a repair center.
