bad service
 

Recently ive been getting bad phone service. i have alltel, and every other phone ive had with them has great service, but now whenever im inside i dont get many bars at all and it will never send a text message. is there anything i could do to help this? update radio maybe? i have radio version 3.42.50 and rom version 3.49.NO2.5066.

Well? You can try and flash to the latest radio buy going to HTC site. If thats all you are looking to do (improve reception/service) then see if that helps. To get better performance overall with your phone, you may want to look into a custom ROM. you can look in my SIG below and click the link.

Not really sure there is anyfurther advanced radios for your device hat will boost signal... Did you always get poor signal indoor on your mogul, or is this a recent development?

If its recent, chance are there some sort of software conflict afftecting your signal, which can be fixed with a hard reset... or a hardware problem that you may have to turn in....

If youve always had this problem w/ ur device... it could be just a standard thing youll just have to deal with...

thanks. im already running Kaos take 3 enhanced custom rom. thinking about going to take 5. still unsure about whether i want a sprint rom or not. i looked on HTC's site and couldnt find anything for the mogul. old news. lol

well before i flashed to KAOS take 3 i flashed to that rom to enable GPS. so i guess thats the most recent rom and radio version?

i would recommend that you do it and its not a sprint rom... it can be used with any provider since it doesnt install any company bloat ware....... you will want to install the dcd carrier cab for alltel though.

is the carrier cab in the extended rom once i get it flashed? i decided not to last night. cause i didnt feel like installing sktools and everything i have on here. so i may do it tonight. is there an easy way to install everything i have on here again? or do i have to do it one by one? also, the llast time i used pimbackup it didnt really save all my contacts. is there a better one?

Dont Know what you mean by extendd rom... but if the Rom is a generic rom, compatible w/ all different carriers then you need one of Dcd's carrier cabs... I suggest everyone who changes and flashes rom, to keep their carrier cab save on their storage card for wheneer, sometimes youll get a rom, for ur carrier that wont need it... other times youll be happy you have it...

Look into downloading Sashimi... we have it here on the site, It allows you to auto install all of your preferred apps, reg edits, registration info, account info, etc after a hard reset or flash... or you can search any other 'auto installer' aps... but Sashimi is my personal favorite

If Pim backup isnt working for you... try Sprite back up!

well if pimbackup didnt sasve them than you didnt save them and use the program correctly. that app has been used milions and millions of times by users successfully. and no the carrier cab is not located in the extended rom since it is a clean rom, you can find it here by doing a search for them or you can also find them in taylorWckediden's tweaks thread also. good luck and let us know when you flash :>

yup sashimi is great from what i hear but dont have the time to figure it out unfortunately :< (unless someone wants to make one for me with all my apps and than im sure i could figure it out from there on how to add some more :smile:) the extended rom is in the mogul and hidden and is where sprint and other carriers keep much of their carrier cabs and such that are installed when the device configures for the first time after fresh reboot.

So tell me, is this a feature only the mogul has, or do all or most mobile device have em? And how do you go about accesing it? (windows folder?)

im not sure. when i flashed to kaos take 3 enhanced, the extended rom appeared when i plugged my phone in as another storage place. just like a storage card and hard drive.

pimbackup has worked in the past. i may just use that again. thanks

extended rom was something that could be cooked into a rom with the mogul

i believe taylor has all the carrier cabs in his tweaks/hacks thread

so can i use the extended rom for more file sotrage if i need it or is it off limits?

and i just flashed to the take 5. no problems. did it from my sd card. installed carrier cab and all seems well. thanks for all the help.now lets hope pimbackup works! haha

no, the extended rom is very small and you wouldnt want to do that anyways........ they made it so there was just enough space on there for their junk ware and thats it.
