I work for a walmart grocery distribution center. my buddy got an iphone and another buddy had a tmo wing so i checked out both and like htc device better. i had been looking at the qwest mogul for awhile, so one day said screw it and got it, i was HOOKED instantly. And after countless searches for programs, themes, and stuff like that, i came across a video dash had on youtube and bam ended up here.

I am an account manager. Very generic title, but in a nutshell, I am the muscle for supermarket marketing/advertising depts. Junkie wise, I had been eying ppcs when the 6700 came out. Wasn't totally sold on it, but I kept an eye out. Once the Mogul came out, I pounced on it. A few months went by and sitting in front of my computer late one night....(not what you're thinking), I thought, "Man, there's gotta be more this phone can do!" So I started searching stuff for Mogul and came across D/\SH and one of his couple of Youtube videos, and here I am. Thank you.

Started to show me things I could do with the phone lol. From there found a video Dash had on Guitar Hero , been all over since that day!!!! :yahoo:

The best way to described what I do is that I analyze alot of stuff....figure out what is going on where and what I can do about it....As for the PPC, well, I was watching TV and seeing all the neat phones (touch, diamond, LG's, etc etc etc). I knew that some phones could be flashed, but had to do alot of Google searcing...I have a bit of background using VB for developing PalmOS databases. I have been thinking about trying to develop my own launcher (all i have to do is figure out how to do it). I have some ideas for what I wold want, who knows? maybe someone else might also.....so in a few years, maybe I will have one! LOL

My job is complicated. I'm told to say I am a SATCOM technician. Thats the best way to sum it up, but there is so much more to the job. Think any movie where you see the DoD communications room. Yep thats me.

I started with the Mogul. It came out right as I was about to go for the 6700. I googled a few sites and stumbled here. I havent left yet!

well i did work corporate for sprint running and looking over the receiving area for all new phones as well as doing beta testing. ( included the bad batch of original touch pros that we had to flash) (24,000 phones in one night!!) but that was a fun night between all of us and couldnt tell you how many red bulls, doritos, and pizzas we went through. ( bought 10 different stores out of their frozen pizzas hahaha) but now i work at metro health hospital as an security officer. do the basic restraints, calming of situations, 10-99's which are taking expired/dead bodies from the room down to the morgue and transferring from the bed to the gurney. i got into the smartphone/ppc game about 2 years ago now... i was searching the net and found my first forum on smartphones especially the WM2003 nextel i930 since thats the firsdt one i had. ( i know doesnt really count lmao) but anyways i was addicted and than found a very nice board in
Code:

www.puertotech.com
and loved the hacks, the styles, the professional skins, (i mean professional and mass amount of them to choose from) and many other things. thats where i met wcked and started asking him if i could post this or that up since it was consoderd to be warez..... not soon after that and my posting of applications onto the boards he asked if i wanted to be public uploader which i agreed upon. (3 days after joining :) ) than i went to mod a couple weeks later, and than to Admin later on after we got more of a feel for eachother. after some chatting with wcked (aka wcked) he offered me a chance i couldnt say no to. he said he had an extra license and since IDEN phones and modding them was dying down and pretty much done for he asked if i would like to be his partner in making a new site. I gladly accepted the offer (never expecting to have the tag i do next to my name) and got to work on the boards. never thought we would be this big and soooo fast but hell we are good like that... so basically without wcked i would be able to guarntee i would be an iphoner or basic phone person since without this place i wouldnt have strived to learn more about the devices and much much more. and the name of the site some may ask where that came from lmao..... well on puertotech it said information junkie so i thought why not Wckediden and keep with the team and that just pretty much stuck out more than any of the other ideas that we had so it stuck.... now that my novel is done being wrote i got to click that submit button to get this off to print so i dont bore you all anymore..... hahahaha

Yeah, I almost went to the iphone at first but thankfully I did some research. Being a huge sports fan I wanted something I could use my slingbox with, and I also had just discovered the $30 SERO plan right before they changed it (amazing). I did some searching and came across vids from Dash and Tigerz and decided on the Vogue, then went to the Mogul, and thanks to Wckediden moved on to a free Touch Pro. Love this site. This was my first forum and IMO is the best of any I now belong to.

I got into PPC's not too long ago. i went into Alltel and was looking at phones cause i was bored and came across the PPC6800, and knew i couldnt afford it. So i started looking around and obsessing about smartphones, and came across this site from DASH's youtube. I instantly fell in love. i like all the programming aspects, and the design things. And i too am learning more and more everyday...there are sometimes i wish i just had a simple phone again though. but i love it. Sorry for length!

I am a Sonic Drive-In manager working about 70-85 hours a week on average. I have always had an interest in technology and how it works. I started modding and building my own home PC's since at about the age of around 14. I remember when I first saw the PPC-6700 first was to come out with sprint and I nearly flipped. Saved up, got me one, and have been hooked ever since.

I am currently in the military (USAF, to be more specific). I have been in a little over 19 years, and debating weather to retire next year and move on, or stay in due to this horrible economy. I am stationed in quiet Abilene TX, but was born and raised in NYC. I have been building computers since I was 15, and into all types of electronics. I had a Mogul, but then deployed, and when I came back, upgraded to the Touch Pro. I am looking forward to getting back into the swing of things and taking advantage of what this site has to offer. You guys have saved me countless trips to the Sprint store already!

I get the nice generic title of Consultant, or I guess technically Implementation Consultant. When a client wants our product, I work with them on requirements for merging data, hardware, all that jazz. Good thing is I usually get to travel a lot (which I love) and I work from home when I'm not. Gotta love the 10 second commute during rush hour. :D

As for Wckediden. When I took the job with the travel, figured it was time to move from the LG clamshell I had (vx 8300 I think it was) to a smartphone so I could link with exchange server at work and all that jazz. I had been hacking the LGs as much as possible (custom flash wallpapers and ringtones without paying VZW for them), so I started trying to see if I could do the same with the smartphones. Researching what I could do with the Mogul led me here.

Since I did the footwork ahead of time, I flashed my Mogul the day I got it and have never looked back. :yahoo: I think the longest I ran a stock rom was two days with the TP because Sprint had trouble getting my data working.

i'm a systems/network administrator for the Federal Housing Finance board, semi pro musician (i play drums) and tech addict. i was a faithfull samsung fan until i wanted to go beyond the ringtones and wallpapers thing not just sounding unique but make it look unique too so i found the touch and the sprint users forum, that didn't quite whet my whistle so i kept looking around and found XDA and PPC geeks and Wckediden and this is where i've stuck i used to just lurk around in the shadows but now i've become much more active, now i have the page constantly up on my desktop all day everyday... it's been a fun ride and it just keeps getting better

CB radio tech/installer. We have a small CB shop on the east side of Houston. Been here a few years. We do all kinds of work with "Freight Relocation Specialists" and "Professional Steering Wheel Holders". That's what I get paid to do.

What I don't get paid to do is be a mother. I gave birth to four of them, and have too many customers that call me "MAMA" I do all kinds of stuff for my customers, for my kids too.

We got into this forum because of my hubby. He wanted a "smartphone" and was going to get the Palm 755, but it wasn't what he wanted. My fault for showing him youtube videos from Dash, that just started it all.

May be a bit off topic, but I read what Daisy wrote. This is for you!

A few months ago, when I was picking up the children at school, another mother I knew well rushed up to me. Emily was fuming with indignation.

"Do you know what you and I are?" she demanded.

Before I could answer, and I didn't really have one handy, she blurted out the reason for her question. It seemed she had just returned from renewing her
driver's license at the County Clerk's office.

Asked by the woman recorder to state her occupation. Emily had hesitated, uncertain how to classify herself. "What I mean is," explained the recorder, "do
you have a job, or are you just a .....?"

"Of course I have a job," snapped Emily. "I'm a mother."

"We don't list 'mother' as an occupation...'housewife' covers it," said the recorder emphatically.

I forgot all about her story until one day I found myself in the same situation, this time at our own Town Hall. The Clerk was obviously a career woman,
poised, efficient, and possessed of a high-sounding title like official Interrogator or Town Registrar.

"And what is your occupation?" she probed.

What made me say it, I do not know. The words simply popped out. "I'm a Research Associate in the field of Child Development and Human Relations."

The clerk paused, ball-point pen frozen in midair, and looked up as though she had not heard right. I repeated the title slowly, emphasizing the most
significant words. Then I stared with wonder as my pompous pronouncement was written in bold, black ink on the official questionnaire.

"Might I ask," said the clerk with new interest, "just what you do in your field?" Coolly, without any trace of fluster in my voice, I heard myself reply, "I have a continuing program of research [what mother doesn't) in the laboratory and in the field (normally I would have said indoors and out). I'm working for my Masters (the whole darned family) and already have four credits (all daughters)." "Of course, the job is one of the most demanding in the humanities [any mother care to disagree)? and I often work 14 hours a day (24 is more like it). But the job is more challenging than most run-of-the-mill careers and the rewards are in satisfaction rather than just money."

There was an increasing note of respect in the clerk's voice as she completed the form, stood up, and personally ushered me to the door.

As I drove into our driveway, buoyed up by my glamorous new career, I was greeted by my lab assistants--ages 13, 7, and 3. Upstairs I could hear our new experimental model (6 months) in the child-development program, testing out a new vocal pattern. I felt triumphant! I had scored a beat on bureaucracy! And I had gone on the official records as someone more distinguished and indispensable to mankind than "just another mother."

Motherhood...what a glorious career. Especially when there's a title on the door.

Know why there isn't a job title? Mothers don't do it for recognition. For that matter stay at home dad's don't either. The real reason is that then you would get in trouble for not paying taxes for domestic help. HA!

Edited for yah... great post... except, i would change that title to something more like "Research Manager in the field of Child Development and Human Relations" or "Human resource manager in the field of child development and human relations"... after all... motherhood (parenthood in general) is like the biggest management position of all time...lol!
