HTC Touh Pro Flash Error [262]
 

Ok so I have been trying for last five hours and I have decided to give up and ask for help. This is my first time trying to flash the ROM. I followed instructions on how to flash. everything works great until i get to the part where it should start the process where it just stays on 0% and then gives me the "Error [262]: UPDATE ERROR. The ROM Utility has encountered communication errors during the update process. The program will guide you step-by-step to recover from the errors so you can continue with the update." I am so frustrated right now somebody please help me.

I remember that happening to me once, I believe it's a bad download. Try to re-download and try again. Did you unlock your phone 1st?? Make sure you unlock your phone prior to flash.

Also, start --- settings --- connections --- usb to pc -- uncheck "enable advanced network functionality"

what rom are you trying to flash?

delete the download you have now, and download it again. make sure it's in it's own folder and can find it easy. Also, make sure to extract to someplace, like in that folder, so that you can keep everything together.

Yeah that, try dowloading another rom and flash that. Also it sounds like the phone was not unlocked make it is by put into bootloader mode manuelly

sounds like you didnt unlock your device. can you please tell us what numbers it tells you on the bootloader tri-color screen?

Another option for you to try is to flash via SD....the below link is from PPC outlining flashing the Touch Pro....
