Cant get touch pro to sync
 

I got a new touch pro and cant get it to sync with laptop I have not done any mods to it, All I did was load some music off of my XP desktop and now it wont sync with my laptop which is running Vista

Try soft ressetting phone, or that wont work try unistalling WDMC from computer and reinstall back see if that works dont forget to delete any partnerships u have on the WMDC hope that works..

WDMC is your windows mobile device center it is software (cd)that come inside box of touch pro when u buy it thats what make your phone sync

Not on the pc I installed the software on and it was a XP desktop and this is my laptop and it is a vista machine. And alll I did was sync the phone and charge it and loaded one album of music that is all nothing more.

vista wont install active sync 4.5 software thats why i am stuck I do not have anything on phone no contacts or anything yet I care to delete so is there a way to hard reset it and wipe it clean to new slate so to speak like it was new and turned on for 1st time?

Yeah you can hard reset your phone just go to Setting/System/StorageClear follow the steps it will restore your phone back to facorty defaults setting.

Well I thought you didn't have to install the software that vista was already set up and would recognize it on its own.

Yeah you shouldn't should just have to connect your phone and the computer will do the rest, will install the drivers an your set too go

I just did hard reset and still nothing my Vista Desktop Nor my Vista laptop dont see it. I get a bu dump when I plug it in and phone ask if I want active sync or use as drive I have tried both with no success.

When you connect your phone to the computer. If you open up My Computer on your desktop and see your phone then you are connected. Just click on it , will be able to bowse your phone even flash if you want too.

When ur phone is regonized click cancel on all that crap just download wmdc and it should recognize ur phoneif u have the correct boxes check in usb to pc

I did try to download wmdc and when i tried to install it vista wouldn't let me and said i couldn't install wmcd on vista. Checked my vista laptop aND desktop and both have wmdc already installed and it has checks in both allow usb connection and bluetooth.

I dont think ur in the correct settings im talking about activesync should be check as well even if u dont have that installed

ok what settings are you talking about? I installed the cd and it said windows mobile devicw but rebooted computer and now it dont see it.

Dude r u following my instructions go to settings > connections > usb to pc and check activesync

Yes I am sorry new to the phone and this website I am sorry for being so ignorant and yes Bro. I did check settings and it is checked I think it is something in my laptop wont let it sync. Has dot in active sync (sync with outlook) and check in ask about connection type when i connect.

all 3 usb ports and i found the the check mark and it said to uncheck if device does not sync so I did and still no go I will rebboot my laptop and see if that helps.

Have you messed with your boot up options at all. Have you ever messed with msconfig? Sounds like a service isnt running. That is either caused by a boot modification or a virus.

well it synced with xp computer but when I brought it home and got on laptop it wont sync with it so I try it on my desktop and still it wont on it either it is only on the two Vista machines.

well I have turned off alot of crap from starting when pc starts up so what do I need to turn back on and I turned off spybot resident also

Try this go to the device driver and see if there's a yellow exclamation pointing the the sync.if it is go ahead and uninstall it and reboot ,then uninstall active sync,again reboot.once all that is accomplish then reinstall active sync.DO not connect device yet.again reboot. and reboot your device too. and then try and reconnect.hope this make sense. Read this over in another thread

If you stopped a bunch of stuff from starting then I can almost garuntee that there is the problem. Do a regular boot up with everything enabled and see if it connects. Then you know that the problem is there.

I have a bunch of usb hubs on list I only have 3 ports start with family universal usb host 2830 and go to 2839

regular boot up still cant see device. But it is only on the two vista machines. Used cd that came with it and it said new widows mobile device found and installed it but now that I rebooted still same thing it wont see it.

All services and start up programs are activated? And if it said a new windows mobile device is found, then it is found. Make sure activsync is enabled on your phone, and revert any changes you may have made when messing around with your phone. Also, WMDC is still needed on your comp.

Nope no go still tried everything turned off firewall and spybot and did everything I know even googled it and did the upsate on disc and installed the 4.5 sync but still nothing hard reset phone and soft set and made sure active sync was on and advance transfer through network unchecked still nothing.

well since you made a connection we know the pins and the device is not the problems... it has to be either the virus scan or something that you have installed on all 3 of your machines... do you have the same virus scans for all three computers? do you have any common programs?

Un-installed wmcd and re-installed it and plugged in device to pc and it said found a windows mobile remote adapter but cant see in under my computer. Any idea what to do?

ok do you have mobile device center 6.5 on your pc? make sure it says version 6.5

my pc's are Identical almost except vista and maybe a movie or something but all software is same I use AVG free 8.5 on all and spybot.

i already told you deactivate it.... go to the settings of your protaction avg free and than go to deactivate

yes when I try to reinstall the windows 6.1 cause I uninstalled it it says to make microsft office my default email client and i have used every email i have and no go it will not except any email

the only way I can see it is under network adapter it does make the bu dump sound when pluged in and unplugged.

Well I turned off all firewalls and spybot the only way I can see it is under network adapter in hardware manager. Is there anyway I can download file straight to my touch pro? I would love to get some themes and throttle locker and a rom so please help and thanks for everything you have done so far. I even restored computer back to factory and got a driver detective and registry fix program I have worked on this for hrs now to no avail.
