TP randomly crashes and freezes
 

Hey all, my TP randomly crashes and freezes about once every 2 or 3 days. I have to remove the battery to get the thing working again. The technicians said that t is fairly common to have your pocket pc freeze. This problem has happend both before I made modifications, ie: stock ROM and software and after I flashed and added software.

Do any other TP users find the same problem? If so has anyone found anything that might help??

yepp it happend to me too the first month i got it..so i got it replaced for a new one...i thought it would be the stock rom so thats when i flashed my tp for the first time..but nope it still happend so i got it replaces..

Also, why do u have to take the battery off?? A soft reset wont work??..cuz all i used to do soft reset and it would work fine for a couple of days...

A stock rom usually does that after heavy use especially running programs at the same time it shouldnt but it does..try cleaning ur pro with clear temp or sktools that could be found here at Wckediden..that usually helped me when running stock rom, if that wont work try going custom usually faster and more stable than stock less bloatware that usually takes alot of space that means slower or even freeze at time..thats my take hope ive helped

Its true glitches like that happen over time, where u need to soft reset, ideallistically you should soft reset your device regulaly every soft often to keep i fresh and keep the process (usually runnin in the background) low. when u go for days on eved, openining a closing apps and such, those process can tend to build up and coninually run in the bckgrnd, usually causing those glitches... as the other members have suggested, soft resetting will do the trick to fix it, but if i soft reset every 1ce a day or couple of days itll really reduce those instance, and also taking step like parna suggested to maintin ur device, using sk tools or something similar is good... i recommend sktools b/c u can do so much more then an app like clean ram but either will do... once a week i like to clean out bad registry entries, temp internet files etc, to keep things runnin smooth... its like tuning up ur car engine every so often to keep her runnin smooth!

yup most likely because of stock rom and the processes running... be sure to use the xbutton in the top right to close out of apps and i soft reset my device every morning before my shower jsut as i would a computer since these ppc's are mini pc's and all.... but if that doesnt help gtry to go custom and if it is still doiung it def phone troubles and take it in and have them get it fixed or have them get you a new one if it cant be fixed... and be sure if you go custom to relock your phone and flash back to the stock rom for the device.
