internet speeds faster
 

ok well i'm running ATR3 rom and it runs greats i'm getting 750kbps download and 166kbps upload..

is it possible to up it even more?? i'm thethering my phone with my laptop.. so i'm looking for more speed is that possible??

If i use a sprint air card i get really nice speeds... but i hate to have to pay for cell phone and air card :-( any get arounds for this?

Wow that is pretty fast im sure that is the fastest ull get it up to as far as not paying so much for ur air card try this bro all u need is data on ur phone

yes all custom roms have the tweaks needed... just turn the wifi on your ppc off if on custom rom and than connect via usb and choose internet tethering. or you can use an app like pdanet or wmwifirouter.

and speed your pretty much what you are at.... i do have a thread with a tweak but not sure if it works on the touch pro or diamond since my speeds are great. heres the link

Man I might Have to Go To AT&T. My buddy just did a speed test from their network and got like 2.3mbps and like 200 upload....Sprint is way behind...Is there a reason Dash?

it all depends on where your at, signal strength, what radio you have ect....but i got 2.7 down and 238 up when in full evdo coverage and after flashin different radios to get the best speeds.

O wow really? I thought I had pretty good coverage area to test in and didnt get that great. But I will see if I can just update my radio!

hahahaha what? thats nothing with sprint on the telus radio in michigan i get 2.9 and 244 upload..... sprint is way faster than 3g... 3g is dialup and rev a is cable per say

really? Wow...So Dash if there is anyone who would know this it is you....I heard from a friend of mine who is generally pretty darn smart dude with tech stuff and said the more than likely GSM will more than likely surpass REV A because it has the ability to grow and change more and faster than REV A.

True or False?

false..... 4g isnt coming anytime soon for gsm users and wimax which is faster than rev a (rev a wayyyy faster than 3g already) is on its way out..... there is no way that i can see this happening.....

Yeah I see what your saying for sure. So do you think there will be programs that will work with Wi-Max? Or just have to buy a new phone that is integrated with Wi-Max?

hahahahhaha not sure about greatest poster ever but i will take it :smile: but you will have to have a device that is capable of using the technology for it to work..... just like rev a was capable on the mogul and vogue through sprint first ppc wise but was locked down through the epst screen until they were ready to launch it and have the option built into the official release rom which just happened to be the same time that they gave us GPS!!!!

flashback.... damn those were the days wehn we couldnt even use gps on our moguls or vogues sicne they wouldnt give us the capability..... and the hype over it actually happening :summer: damn those were the good ole days

OK so I thought this would be a nice place to put this question:

I have never done tethering just Wifi Router...So when I go to tether and select internet sharing and what not nothing happens....it does not connect...Do I need to do anything else?

you need to make sure you arent connected to wifi on your computer cuurenrtly and than you will be fine and it will connect to your phone using that as a modem.

I had my wifi turned off, but I guess I didn't go into network options and fully disable it. Then it worked...also never showed the network connection on the taskbar and I think that confused me.
