1. You need to install from garmin_rmu_cnnant2010\IMG\CNNANT2010_Update_E NU.msi ...not the Setup.exe.

2. After you've downloaded the full update,
go to directory IMG and run CNNANT2010_Update_ENU.msi to install it.

3. Connect your GPS to your PC.

4. Run MapSource.
"Locked Maps Detected" will pop up, so close it by clicking Skip.
Under the "Utilities" menu, select "Get Unit ID". Copy your Unit ID.

5. Run garmin_keygen_v1.5.exe and enter your Unit ID.
Ignore "Select Software Product". Under "Select Map Product", select "".
In the blank under "FID (or MapID)", enter 396 and click OK.
Click on the second Generate button. Copy your map unlock code.

6. In MapSource, Under the "Utilities" menu, select "Manage Map Products".
Click on the tab "Unlock Regions" and click Add.
Enter your map unlock code, click OK, then click Close.

7. Open Windows Explorer
and select your GPS.
In the directory Garmin, delete gmapprom.img or gmapsupp.img
(should be about a 1 GB file).
You can backup this file first in case something goes wrong.

8. Run MapInstall. Select all states and provinces. Sit back and wait.

That's it. Feel free to offer corrections, clarifications, warnings, etc.

9. Run garmin_keygen_v1.5.exe and enter your Unit ID.
Ignore "Select Software Product".
Under "Select Map Product", select "Custom Mapset".
In the blank under "FID (or MapID)", enter 450 and click OK.
Click on the second Generate button. Copy your map unlock code.

remember to unlock device it self...take device generated code open notepad.
select save as all file types..name it SW.UNL place code generated in it.
put that in garmin folder on sd.
same as before.tested and confirmed as i have updated.

(BIg Shout out to jet mouse) without him garmin wouldnt be what it is for us......FREE

Hi and thnx for the reply,
But i bought another phone this week and its a smartphone but its more based on gsm htc s740.
Its a good phone but no toutchscreen, when i use the keyboard it gives me other signs than the one on the keyboard.
This happens only in tt6 or tt7.
Because it dont have a toutchscreen.
So i have to find another way to input the code or another gps app.
grtz

Yo Kaos, is this one gonna be like the past released versions, where once you have it set up and on your SD card, it will install a clean working copy straight from the card after flashes and HR?

I did. It didn't install any detailed maps on my laptop. It did install the basemap which has only major roadways with no secondary roads. But I did find an old copy on my external drive and updated them.

Hey Kaos, when I get to step 6.
"In MapSource, Under the "Utilities" menu, select "Manage Map Products".
Click on the tab "Unlock Regions" and click Add.
Enter your map unlock code, click OK, then click Close."

I click add, paste my map unlock code that I generated and it says "Map Product Not Installed."
There isn't an OK button so I just clicked close.

When I go to the map install it says the maps bust be unlock and it gives me the same message under Unlock Regions "Map Product Not Installed."

I'm stuck here and not sure what to do. Any help would be great. Thanks!

Hey Kaos! Any chance you can post the 1.5 Keygen by itself. I have the maps on disc for my wife's nuvi but I want to put them on my TP. I have been using these on PDA's for awhile and know how to install with my eyes closed. (about 20x installed now) so I shouldn't need any help!

Having never used one of these Garmin/TomTom type map products I was wondering what exactly they do that is different, better, cooler, or whatever from the Google Maps and/or Sprint Navigation type products. Any help?
Also, am I correct in that there are 22 different .rar files that need to be downloaded to get this one to work?

I had no luck trying to get the TomTom one so was hoping this might work instead.
Thanks in advance

garmin also allows you to search via google. so its almost the best of two worlds.

yuppers or make an exclusion..... still scan once your done downloading and all to make sure not a dangerous trojan but your fine.l.. i have downloaded this and scanned it myself and it is clear... the reason a lot of them have false positives like that is because they read keygens, cracks, and patches as harmful items to your pc.

OK, so I have downloaded all 22 of these files and am now ready to "TRY" to install. I've searched for the much talked about Kaos video to avoid "Stupid Questions," but can't find it. So, I'll have to ask the first (hopefully last) of my stupid questions: Before I get to the first step: "1. You need to install from garmin_rmu_cnnant2010\IMG\CNNANT2010_Update_E NU.msi ...not the Setup.exe." I'll need to unpack all 22 RAR files, no? Do they all get unpacked to the same folder, do one first? or What?

when you un-rar the files, they unpack with the propler files and folders.

yes, it will work on your TP, thats why it's in the ppc app section.

you also did an auto/ double post which means rest rest of the fourms saw only the first part of your post as new, and the update did not show as a new post so it fell into the forums.

That is what I figured, but how come when I follow the steps and connect my TP to get the "unit ID" it does not get recognized and no ID # is generated?

and btw heres a little something for all of you who have this already running on your phones. i found a link to an unlocked USA gmawckedmap. you have to have already installed the software to your phone. this will overwrite the gmawckedmp.img on your sd card, so back up the origional img file. i'm running this new basemap right now with no issues.

the links are hosted on rapidshare:

Thanks!
That is what I figured, but how come when I follow the steps and connect my TP to get the "unit ID" it does not get recognized and no ID # is generated?

this is a time comsumig process your first time make sure you followed the directions exactly or it will not work at all or you can't connect to the garmin server, if you want to.

best thing is to delete the program and all folders and start over.

OK, I will give that a try. I thought everything was going well, the software installed but did not recognize my phone. Hopefully, it will the next time I try.

OK, So I have tried this twice with my Touch Pro. Each time when I go to "get Unit ID" I get a msg that "some devices were found but none have the necessary capabilities....." What am I doing wrong?
Thanks for the help.

if you haven't run quickgps, if that doesn't work, install google maps. launch google maps and click the option "use gps." minimize the application, do not turn if off, then launch garmin
