Mogul doesnt turn on after randomly
 

Hi my mogul has been randomly dieing on me lately, i would turn it on and call someone talk and hang up, then 2 minutes later i would try to turn it back on through the power button because it hibernates or something and it just wont let me, i would have to take out the battery and put it back in, i cant even press the reset button or anything. i dont understand! thank you in advance for any replys!

oh yea, i know the phone is on because i see the lights flashing, but when i try to call it rings but thats it, it doesnt even show up as a missing call when i take out the battery and put it back in.

sounds like you are in need of a hard reset...... back up all your contacts and the other important things using an app like pimbackup and see if that clears up the issues for you than do your hard reset.

i concur with my ppc colleague. Hard reset. If not that flash a custom if you haven't already.. Take the plunge.

I had that same problem with a stock VZW Rom on a phone i just got....I kept it up and running long enough to flash a new ROM for my carrier and that completely solved the problem....On the three different ROMs that I have flashed onto it, I have had no problems at all with not being able to turn it back on......

i think it was a common problem with the mogul at that time.But when i upgraded to the latest stock rom release. It has solved the problem.Not sure what rom you're running but try and upgrade to the latest if not then run the the custom rom.

thanks guys! i just decided to flash to the DCD 4.1.2 rom and everythings been running fine as of right now, ill update if the problem persists! once again, thank you.

okay, heres an update. so far, the problem has persisted. it keeps turning off on me. i tried removing the microsd card, i tried a hard reset (pressing the left and right button in the middle and pressing reset) i'm able to reset it but afterwards it does the same thing. the rom radio i have is version 3.42.02 and im running dcds 4.1.2. could it be a battery problem? i'm running out of ideas!

Had a mogul - loved it.

If possible, when you have it on, can you look at the power settings? Could be that something has been changed, or you may have set something up. Stranger things have happened.

You've unlocked the handset, flashed to another rom, and after you flash, you pull the battery for a minute, then put it back in, hard reset and then check the power levels? Not the icon, but in the actual properties of the power, there should be a graph or something that you can look at.

If the problem persists, I would suggest calling customer service and asking for tech support. Try flashing back to the original leaked rom for your provider.

Also, if you are having a battery issue, I would suggest going to a local store and seeing if they can trade you batteries. You did let it charge for at least an hour or so and check the power levels.

well jus out of curiosity and make sure you fully think before answering..... did you ever go from a gps rom to a non gps like an old stock or old custom with gps? this is the only time this is known to happen and remember the problem when gps first came out and thats the only time this has been discussed here at Wckediden and other forums.

from what i remember the first flash i did was nueroms i forgot what version, then i went onto the kaosrom for like a year then i went back to nuerom because it got too slow, after that i tried cooking my own roms but that didn't go well because the phone kept acting wierd so i went right back to nuerom, and now i tried the dcd's latest rom and the problem still happens, i think this problem started after i tried cooking my own rom and flashing it. what are the steps i can take to have everything back to when i first got the phone?

well if the nuerom was pre-gps thats what did it.... do you know if ut happened after you went from kaos to nuerom and do you know what version of nuerom thatyou tried? i would go back to stock and bring it into the store and tell them whats going on.

this problem started happening after i tried cooking one of my own roms using ppckitchen. so i'm not sure if that information would be helpful to you or not. where can i download the latest stock rom for my mogul?

lol dash, i knew that! haha jk :glasses1: so i just flashed to the stock rom i found on the htc site. and now i remember why i upgraded to the nuerom, ITS SO MUCH FASTER!!! this stock sprint rom is horrible. anyway, i'm going to be trying out this one and seeing if the problem persists, i;ll update soon.
