Delete and create new partnership with ActiveSync and your PC
This is a fix for a problem I often have whereby for some reason my PC and Activesync have an argument and decide they do not want to sync. There are any number of error messages I get and have found that this fixes them all.
I have searched on here for a solution or similar post and couldn't find one but wanted to share a fix that I find invaluable. Please read the guide before doing anything to make sure it is what you are after. FIRST: Try opening Activesync on your PC, clicking File, click Delete Mobile Device. Often this does not work for me so i do this. To delete and recreate a partnership between your Phone and your PC: Step1: Disconnect your Pocket PC from your desktop PC Step2: Open Activesync on your Pocket PC, click Menu, then Options Step 3: Highlight the connection (mine says Windows PC) so the delete button becomes active. Press Delete. Step 4: Reconnect your Pocket PC to your desktop PC and follow the Activesync Partnership steps. What this does is it deletes any partnerships you have between your phone and your PC. When you reconnect your phone to your PC it will guide you through a new setup sequence identical to the very first time you ran Activesync. NOTE: Currently works on (all I have tried): HTC Touch Pro/Fuze Outlook 2007 Microsoft Activesync 4.5 Finally, I found that this does remove the information you sync with your PC (eg: contacts, calendar entries, tasks etc) but a simple sync with Outllok puts it all back the way it was. So make sure you have the info you want on your PC. Hope this was helpful and if it was please click thanks on the way out. |
