whats up Wckediden? i just got a question about chrome defect i had my phone way over 30 days. the chrome part by the volume is crack i was wondering would they still replace it for free? i called sprint he said i hav to pay 50 bucks. is there a way to get replace for free?

yes call them back and tell them that you want them to look up your esn number and see if it is on the recalled list for the device.... that just happened to me with mine from 2 months before release and they gave me no troubles with it... if they do tell them that you want to talk to retentions.

yeah if you have a local sprint repair center i would go there. I know we replace the phones out for that for free in our store because it is a known issue with the device.

yeah especially if they from that 1st november batch when the tp was released... but some time they try to be slick n get u if u dont know, so be clear that u know its a recalled device and a replacement is owed to u... i have one that i havent replace yet... just waitin on it to become more defect... that way ill take it in, and instead of listing all the complaints, and them tellin me to pay ins fee... ill be able to say...1st batch defected chrome... u owe me a new one....lol!

yup thats what i did to and that will mean you will have a shiny one later on which is always nice :) especially if your into getting new devices :)

so i went to the store today to get my touch pro replace, they didnt have any so they ordered one fo me i have to go back 2-3 days. ill keep you guys inform. thanks again for all the help.

alright i just got my replacement phone today. time to flash my phone. i was running on stock for couple of days. thanks again everybody.

I dropped my tp and busted the chrome band right next to the call button. Is the a teardown instruction manual anywhere that tells you how to tear the phone down so that I can replace the chrome band with 1 from a dummy model.

WOw i just noticed mine cracked too. might take this baby back for replacment....thnxs for all the info on this thread keep u posted how it goes...thnxs
