Update Unlock Not Working HTC Vogue
 

I'm following steps from NFSFAN 65 Faq forum which can be found in search....

Problem: Not being able to connect properly so that phone can be recognized in rainbow mode!

Steps I've taken: (mind you i did this connect disconnect about 10 times)

So i did a hard reset to reset everything on my phone (wiped clean)
Then i made sure activesync was turned off and then on
then i restarted computer and restarted phone

What happens to phone when connected:

1. So i connect my htc touch(vogue) in rainbow mode (top button, side button, and stylus on bottom at same time)
2. Then i launch RUU.exe and follow steps and after i get to (verifying the information on your pda phone...please wait) my phone goes into a load bar with 0% at the end of it
3. Then the RUU.exe program tells me that i have no image version: it's just blank! but i select next anyway!
4. Then i press next to update
5. then i get into the update load bar and then i wait about 30 sec before it tells me (error 262) then i do all over again...
6. and in raindbow mode it turns from serial to usb i don't see the wrong part??!!!

what does the error state and what are you trying to flash? you shouldnt be able to flash without something appearing there...... did you unlock your device?

i did not unlock my device but the instructions in the NFSFAN 65 ROM Faq says that in using the 2.31 on the CLICK HERE link will unlock my device so that i'm able to load a rom... am i doing that wrong?

right before you can flash the rom you have to unlock your device using the unlocker aka hardspl that can be found in the flashing tutorial located in my signature as well as the tutorial section from the article section by the search feature. if you cant see my signature go to my vontrol panel and enable the option to see forum signatures....... the unlocker is located there and all the steps will be there too... all you do is plug it in, run the exe file, follow the step by step instructions and than your done.

yup my man D/\SH is correct bro!!! i had the same problem long long time ago when i wanted to flash to 6.1 lol
and well the problem is that you need to unlock your phone once this is done do the same steps in flashing your phone to what ever version and then you will be golden!!

so it recognized my phone and connection was good and all and right when i was getting excited it got to the loader bar and it didn't move from the 0% and then it just said the same thing it said before about error 262

what does it say after that error number..... like what is the description.

it says there are communication errors and it asks for me to do the recovery....

im trying to get it unlocked but when it gets to the load bar to start the unlock it just freezes and then says error 262 communication error and so i can't get past that... thank you guys for helping me... but this is killing me...

are you using xp with activesync or vista with mobiledevicecenter?

than you should have no troubles.... try to redownload the unlocker and try to run it again.

THANK YOU VERY VERY VERY MUCH!!!! ONCE AGAIN DASH I SWEAR YOU HAVE OPEN TAB ON ME!!! LOL...

one more thing though lol.... lmao....do i do the same thing for flashing a new rom now?

i want the diamond look on my htc touch so do you know of any thread that may have the link cause right now i'm thinking about downloading v11 cause that's all i see when i search... or is there a favorite you have with the least amount of problems???

you have it stock on a custom rom like you mentioned with nfsfan..... all you have to do is go to start/settings/personal/today/items/ and choose touchflo 2d... you kind find skins in the skin area and please keep this thread on topic with the title.

hey i am new to this need a lil help on it please i just found out about window mobile 6.5 how can i get it on my alltel htc aka vogue i was told to get for my aka vogue they recommend nfsfan just sign up with Wckediden so please help me with this n please let me know step by syep were to go how to install thanks

ok here we go again i unlocked flashed the updated stock ROM and it RELOCKED the phone so i ran the locker again to unlock it again so i could NFSFAN's ROM it went smooth but now the phone keeps POWERING OFF SO I HARD RESET and it still doing it what do i do as this is a nightmare i dont understand ?

like i just said above the radio versio in the 2's that you have is the non gps radio you need to flash the newest stock as i said above so you can get the newest radio asd than flash over to custom.
