Updated: Midomi (extracted from OmniaII) now works over regular data!
 

First cool apps to be extracted from the Omnia II
Midomi is a music identification app. This one allows you to hum, sing or play songs to identify them.
Only works over WiFi initially, but a simple registry fix will enable it to work over 3g:

navigate to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Melodis\Midomi\midomiGU IDType

Change value from 3 to 1

SharePix lets you quickly upload pics to facebook, myspace, friendster and photobucket (all work).
Unfortunately, picasa and flickr aren't working.

this looks very promising and i must say that i will be using when th bugs get fixed in future updates.... wuill be keeping my eye on this one.

i have this app on my Iphone and on my Ipod touch and its awesome..you can actually hum or sing part of the song you are looking for and it will give you results in seconds... :) it would be nice to have it on the TP though, since its my main device.. :)

yeah...i just get a network error when i try to use it...

**EDIT** guess i shoulda looked at the whole "looks like it only works ona wifi connection right now" hahaha

sweet... now i wanna try it... it sounds like music id, but w/ a twist... where now u can just hum or sing the song u wanna know about.... music id became a staple... maybe this will too

the song grab feature works great, but my voice must sound like ass cuz any song i sang it couldnt find haha.. nonetheless great app =)

"also note, anytime i hit menu i get an error and it closes"...

the sharepix is the sharepiux section that they talk about in the post which is for sharing pictures and the other is the cab file for this app.... i nthe first line or two of the first post you will see a reg edit that you must do to get this to work with your phones data package and not stuck just using through wifi.... hope this clears things up for you buddy :) let me know of you need any further assistance and i got your back.

I just installed this and I've got to say this is pretty pimp. I sang a Temptation song and it picked it up. Considering I'm no Marvin Gaye... that I know of, lol, and it got it correct... that's pimp, haha. I like that you can got directly to a YouTube that matches up, preview, and find lyrics. Nice little app and now performed through wireless network and not just wifi. Works for me.

yeah definitely a sick app, does the menu button not work for anyone else? when i press it; it just locks up the app.

its just the application..... it will be fixed in a newer version hopefully, you have to remember this is from the omnia 2 and ported from there and there are always bugs in ported apps.... remember wehn we didnt have touchscreen versions of music id hahaahha

yes we have :) look back at some of my videos from about 1.5 years ago and you will be like wtf thats was hott back in the day lmao..... hell we have came a far ways from when i started.

The one thing I think that this app needs is the ability to save previous Grabs like Music ID. I could reall yuse that feature, because I'm on the road usually when listening to something and I'll put Music ID on and then I can look a few days later as to what I need to DL. Still a great product none the less, just an idea :)

hahahaha i guess that great minds think alike since i do the same :) i just dont download the single song though i get the whole cd and feel the rest of it out.

Works pretty good on the TouchPro2! Same as everyone else though, menu button doesn't work but great app. Can't wait til its fully functional!
