Im really worried Im doing the wrong thing but here goes
 

Hi everyone, I joined the forum a couple of days ago. I found it on maybe my 10th day of looking for answers and help with my HTC Touch Diamond (rebranded in the UK as the O2 XDA Ignito). I'm english (you can check my teeth!) and bought my Diamond (or Ignito) back in November I think (knocking over £300 off the price on its first month of release).

But now the whole thing has come undone and the reason I wanted this phone so much (so that I could use TomTom) has disappeared along with the 4GB of Internal Storage. So I'm hoping to learn a lot from you guys in the coming weeks and hopefully be able to pass my new found knowledge on, as well as taking it to new levels. Without the problem I would never have discovered all the amazing stuff you can do to these phones.

I should also own up and apologise for PMing IceM/\n, that was naughty of me and I'm really sorry and feel damn stupid.

Anyway, here I am, hope I become a valuable member over time!

glad to have you here and you will love your device, we have all the fixes that you need hear on the forum.... you will also find xda-developers a very useful source for your device since you are gsm if not mistaking. (have sim card)

I had recently discovered there was such a thing as CDMA and that it is theoretically twice as fast as GSM, but I had no idea how to find out what the difference was! Now I know for certain what I have. Nice. I have found Icem/\n's method of fixing the problem, but I cant do it because my XP Computer wont show me the Mass Media Drive when I connect it. That's the first step of the method to fix it. I am scared of starting a new thread, but I will do a search before I do.

well i believe thats what you would be.... do you have a sim card behind the battery that has to be placed in the phone to get service? if so you are gsm and yes cdma speeds are way better and i love them,.... its ike dialup compared to dsl.

Ha, no way! I thought having HSDPA was fast. Well it is, compared to my last phone that wasn't even 3G. But yep, its a sim card device so GSM. I dont think we have CDMA in the UK. We all run on sims, even the iPhones. Im going to read up on CDMA to see what we are missing out on!
