Hello you guys i JUSTTT got my Phone flashed to Metro VIA Metro Rep over in the metro Store on US1

I kno that the next esonable Step is to Get a Rom! im not 100% sure what ROM means but i just kno i would want to get it.

im Reading Dash's Guide on Getting a Custom Rom Via

But as i was Reading, it says that "NOTE -- PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU UNLOCK YOUR PHONE BEFORE FLASHING TO A CUSTOM ROM!
USE THIS THREAD TO UNLOCK"

Does this count for me? like even tho its on the metro service, should i Still unlock the phone??

Yea it coes count for u as well u should check and see if ur phone is unlocked by putting ur phone in bootloader mode hold the volume key down -power -and the soft reset key all together.

ok, soo if my phone is not unlocked, i should use that guide to unlock my phone, THEN i can follow the guide to install a custom rom??

Thats is correct do the steps i told u to do,u should get a multicolor screen let me know what it reads so i can tell u wether or not ur unlocked

If it says it is unlock you will be able to flash any custom rom of your choice.

hmm.. i dont think so but i could be wrong i flashed my Sprint tp to metro but dont remember unlocking it after only bcuz i unlocked it previous to switching carriers..u CAN get internet even though they tell u ur unable to and send/recieve pix as long as u set ur phone up the right way. try this it should help u the way it helped me:

I seeeee!!! yea they must have unlocked the phone Before they used what ever program to flash it to metro, and added my ESN and all that good shit!

ALSO that Cab u just posted, will that cab change my settings to where i will get data and pics to work?

Delete all of the connections that exist then run the cab the open IE and it will pop up asking you for your username & password (you can also edit the
modem in the connection the cab creates to yourphone#@mymetropcs.com and pw: metropcs) I would try the above way first as the cab got rid of my battery indicator (I used advanced config seting Show Battery/Time to bring it back)

Please do ur self the favor and read the link i gave u its not as hard as u think it is and ull be able to learn alot.. also look for a registery editor ull need it for seting up mms

Yea, im just going to do it from that one Guide from ppc. it seems really easy to do anyways
and ok i wll find a registery editor

also, quick question. is a Hard reset needed after i install a Cooked Rom?

Yes.. after u flash to a cooked rom, or anyother rom pull the bat out for a min and then hardreset.. its all in dash's How To Flash Guid..
