I have just a stock sprint touch pro.all ive done was added total cammander 2.5, in there all i did was theboost scrolling speed,and the better performace tweaks from ppcgeeks. Then i added the latest swckedshell.i then tried to fix my picturemail cause the pics werent moving or threading i think you call it.like an animation little video.well ive tried alot of different things the acrsoft things and such but now i dont even have any picturemail. I think its probably something stupid ive missed but ive been to so many phone sights and tried different things could i get some good instructions or do i need to hard resetor what can i do i really hate to hard reset and start all over.please help. Ive searched many threads and cant seem to get them to work.please help.....

okay gointo settings and remove any picmail/arcsoft programs youve installed... soft reset....

installed remover pic mail cab attached...soft reset....now install arcsoft cab attached...soft reset... now retry pic mail and lemme know if it works, it should be good to go...

Well that didnt work, funny thing is when my wife sent me a pic the phone lit up but thats it. And when i click on the envelope icon the outlook folder comes up and i dont even have a folder option of picture mail? Please tell me u got another idea!!!

with having the stock rom, you should be able to call sprint and have them help you over the phone, but, i was having the same problem using a custom rom, have you tried doing the things in this thread?

this thread helped me and i got my mail back.

JD Arcsoft... on my diamond (i know you have the pro) but when i recieve picture mail it just says new message and no pix or anythign.. just NEW MESSAGE... i go to view all messages and the senders number will be shown and then i select the number instead of the contact name saved on phone and then it'll show the pic... hopefully this helped.. but i still recieve like if it were a text message!

Yes i tried that i got as far as the third picture he posts and it wont let me put in the 2.0 stuff. Nothing shows up in the sms mms folder either. And why dont i even have a picture mail folder ?? I really appreciate you trying to help me ive been trying this for 3 days im really getting annoyed . Is ther a step i missed in that process?

you have to install the picturemail cab, first, then install the 2.0, then the net configuration. when you go into the configuration you have to manually type in \windows\picturemail.exe, (its not an option in the dropdown which is why you have to type it in manualy. i learned that the hard way) then it will highlight the dropdown to choose 2.0. then you can go on from there.

hmm weird, not sur wy this wont work for u... works for me and most who use it... ususally i just get a text, w/ the attachment symbol(that stupid lil paper clip) i open the text and all itll show is the envelope icon (as windsor descriped)...i click the envelope icon and the pic mail/mms shows...

ok so now im gonna give it another shot but firstdo i erase anything that has to do with picture mail first? and my next question is you and his photobucket picture are using back slashes \ and in his little instructions he says windows/picturemail.exe type in just like that with front slash and only one? sorry if this is stupid but this is really starting to bug me out. and about the mrl i ran that cab and it is a msl so are they the same? and i did type one of the ways in but it wouldnt let me put the 2.0 in it wouldnt let me put anything in it

its a backslash... just like this.... \windows\picturemail.exe

ok, now i would remove everything you have pertaining to picture mail just to make sure that you are starting with a clean slate for the picturemail.

then do like the instructions, but first the picturemail cab, then the 2.0, then the configuration, then actually do the configuration, you should already have prl and update profile cause your on the stock rom, so i would go into the EPST just to do the restore like in the directions, and then update your profile when all that is complete.

getting into epst is kinda tricky, but the directions in that thread or accurate and the program youll need to get into that is the msl grabber so you can get the password for epst. let me know how it works out for you.


btw make sure that you have the 2.0 installed, if it is not then it won't be a choice. and you won't be able to choice, 2.0 or 3.5 untill you have the string typed in full "\windows\picturemail.exe"

ive did it twice now ive got it to send but now i cant receive so something is happening i just dont know where to look everything looked like it went right

i had that happen to me too but i think it was a server issue, cause i waited like a hour or so and tried it again and it worked.

but outside of what i told you, i don't know any other fixes. but if it still doesn't work in a hour or so, call sprint tech before you clear storage on the thing, with you on stock rom they should help you no problem, they can also let you know if there is anything going on with the server.

hahahha say that to me again in 5 days lmao you will reflash trust me and all i do is install the jd arcsoft mms cab (newest) and im good to go right off the bat nothing elseneeded... same way when i was running nfsfans rom too.

hahah really, im not even sure how many times i flashed my rom, to finally settle on nfsfans, but that arcsoft thing didn't work for me either for some ungodly reason, but alls well now, im afraid to touch my pro now that i have everything tweaked and flashed and battery juiced just the way i like it hahahahahah...

yeah i hear ya, now the only thing that will make my pro complete would be a nice bad ass hot female vampire tf3d2 panoramic theme from probex. that would be the icing on the cake. its nice to dream...ahhhh LMAO

i agree that others here do some really great work, no doubting that, but im not just talking a backround. probex seems to have a nack for theming out everything, icons, screens, etc. so hey if someone wants to take on the challange of having a sick goth complete theme with some color and hot vampire chicks, well shit i think i would do a little dance. LMAO

finished UCF and didn't want to drive to daytona beach for the UCF masters. Nova was closer and better for the work/home life.

no sir i didnt the only thing i can think of is if i need to uninstall 2.0 then reinstall after i install the pic mail cab cuz ive been just leaving it installed and it does give me the option after i type in the window stuff otherwise i did everything. i can send but not receive but when my wife sends me a pic the phone still lights up but i dont get no message or alert or pic. im at work now so i think im gonna go home and hard reset after i make sure i have everything on home pc. quick question though what do these other roms do are they like faster or just more options or what ? i usually work 7 days a week(whichs sucks) and i dont really have alot of time at home thats why i like a trick phone so i can play at work

a hard reset might not be a bad idea. i installed the arcsoft from post #2 on my stock TP w/ no user customizations, just 3rd party app installs, and it worked just fine, including threading.

i ran into a problem with the NRG rom and picture mail. long story short follow the instructions in post #2 it worked just fine for me. (i was able to send pics thru arcsoft, but when i received one it came in via default picturemail with the phone number only, even though the number was in my contacts. plus no threading, extra clicks, etc.)

I also put it on my mogul too w/o any issues.

ah my old fix...i remember posting that..Took me awhile top figure that out..I now use arcosoft exclusively . Never a issue. Make sure your data can be started. if your using arco. it needs data. or to be able to access it. check tha data roam is on under phone >network.

LOL, im a lady, not a sir hahahah........ a hard reset is a good idea if the other fixes are not working for you..... as for other rom's, like DASH and everyone else here will tell you, you really need to try them all, there is no one rom that is better then the other. eveyone has different preferences. but you will find that the benifit is longer battery life, better "stock" programs, and a cooler way to add themes and such. but whats good for one person may not be good for you. but once you unlock your phone and start flashing, its all downhill from there. and unlocking and flashing is very easy. best advice i can give you is READ, READ, READ. i read for like 2 days on the boards here just to be able to get comforable enough to flash. and i flashed to like 7 or 8 different roms before i found one that was perfect for me, and didn't get perfect untill i tweaked a bit more. but everyone is very cool here, if you have questions everyone is here to help as long as you have read and searched first heheheh

hehehe, why does that happen???? almost all the ladys here have gotten that....bbaaaaawwwwhahahaha especially tlpalmer01, but all things considered, she does have an angry windblown cat in her avatar. but i could see a guy having it. the cat is angry. very angry.

+1. also some of the custom roms have arcsoft built in to the rom so when your done flashing the rom, its up and running with seemless integration.

i have no idea, but it happens alot when im on the computer......(i don't have an angry cat as my pic, i have a pic of me, so things like that wouldn't happen.... ;P)


im not sure i would agree with this statement, but that just proves that it all works differently for different people. every rom i had to change and add progs and settings..... but im a brat when it comes to me knowing what i want in technology.... ;)

thats why you have to read the opening post to see if arcsoft if built in. it is in the SSS rom. works like a champ too.

i did the hard reset today got picmail back but i was loading back up files and is it possible the swcked shell is messing it up? Cause now i cant receive again

i highly doubt mobile shell would or will ever effect your picture mail..... sounds like your area... try to call your service provider and see if tey are having troubles in your area.

even though my wife is right here and she sends and receives fine? after i booted back up i didnt install net 3.5 or 2.0 or the total commander 2.5 but i did do the widget plus and when i was removing it i noticed it was for vga i think would that have anything to do with it?

ok. so that I'm on the same page, did you run the remove picture mail from teh second post then install the arcsoft after a hard reset??? i'm not trying to waste your time, just offering suggestions.

turn on your data connection, run the update prl from the settings menu also.

i'm not really sure why your haveing so many issues.

or you could just run a custom rom with arcsoft built in.

but if you run the nrg rom you will need to install arcsoft.

well being honest im little worried about the whole unlocking and flashing stuff especially if icant get some of the little stuff figured out. But ive been reading about it alot and i would really like alot faster one than this stock one.

it is. don't freak yourself out. it gets faster to flash a new rom after several attempts. it's almost id10t proof. just make sure you have a full battery, and a connection with your phone and your good to go. the whole process, including flashing a new radio takes about 20 minutes. mostly due to mandatory soft resets.

whats the fastest as far as roms and such and could u maybe evengive me the exact links or even in pm beings this isnt bout picmail. I would like the easiest but yet to make my pro faster. Once i get looking i back track so frikin much i get lost then cant find where i was ha ha theres just so much and i just keep reading. I think once i do it once i wont be as scared to do it again.

LOL you are really going to hate my answer to this, but all of the custom roms are faster then the stock rom. some of the customs though have different things. you might want to do a search for SSS rom because that has the picturemail built in from what i understand. and if you don't want to go through all the stuff with your picturemail you might want to look into that.

There's no "best" roms or "fastest." its all user preferences and use. Hoever i, along with several others, have found the NRG Warhawk the "best" overall rom. you'll need:

1. the unlocker
2. the rom
3. carrier cab
4. latese arssoft cab

its seems like a LOT of stuff to do but its really easy after you take a deep breath and relax.

the rom and carrier cab are in the opening post here:
after installing the rom, let run the user customizaions, run a clear storage, after that install the carrier cab and arcsoft cab. post any further questions in the rom thread.

well after a couple pots of coffee a half pack of smokes ive read the whole section on the sss and im still not sure. especially if i have problems and at work then im out of a phone kinda til get home then ill be very mad but it sounds like they got everything worked i think ill give it a try . after i read about the warhawk one.
