Mysterious HTC Hero revision pics surface, angled chin now M.I.A.

It's not unusual for HTC to repackage the same phone in dramatic ways for different carriers (see Sprint Touch Pro vs. Verizon's vs AT&T Fuze), but the Hero that 8080.net reportedly has is a pretty marked difference -- most notably a more conservative chin. Here's what we can glean from the admittedly bad machine translation: the outlet claims it's the Hero200 that the FCC just approved for CDMA bands, and while it certainly seems like a Hero variant one way or another, we have no proof that this is actually the same recently-approved version, nor have we seen what Sprint's Hero will actually look like. the redesign was going good till some moron said 'lets put in some gold...' and it all went downhill from there. why not keep this form and make a all black and white version?

because that would cost them too much and im sure that there will be aftermarket trim and buttons to change that..... i dont like the gold either but that could also be changed before release....i guess we will just have to wait and see.

i agree, the phone wouldve looked much better without the gold. makes it look tacky.

Not the biggest fan of the gold but still looks good. But still no TP2.

The phone looks really good , as everyone has stated ditch the gold strip and it will be fine.

All I got to say is wow its like looking at the HTC touch with a track ball I could careless about the gold there is worse things they could have done and it don't look to bad I would buy it.

yeah i feel the saem way, the gold is the only killer but i have to admit that it doesnt look that bad to tell the truth...... wont stop me from getting it.

I think it looks alot more like your usual HTC phone I think I might be able to fool the girlfriend if I bought this one sense it looks alot like the vogue I think they should have replaced the gold with some diamonds or rhinestones you know give it some serious blingatude.....

i think it had a nice, modern, sleek look! i cant say the same about the phone pictured above!!! and i thought the chin added character, it made a statement.
yes,, i will still buy one, but it really sucks they killed the aesthetic value of the phone! i really hope this isnt what the sprint hero will look like.

dude the hero looks tight in white... the black one looks cool too but they say that the white one has something that keeps dirt and scratches off of it? that is freakin awesome! gotta get it...
