How to add your own slider sounds on the ppc 6800 AKA mogul by htc
Alright heres how you do it
step 1 get your 2 files, as far as i know they HAVE to be .wav files the shorter the better.... step 2 name the closing sound #_in.wav and the opening sound #_out.wav (where # is any number greater then 2 because 0 1 and 2 are taken up by the default sounds, i am assuming you can add as many as you want, and just keep them in the numerical sequence) and then copy them into your windows directory on the device (now the registry editing begins) step 3 browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > Software > HTC > Sliding sound and make a new key and number in sequence (so if this is your first it will be 3) step 4 create a new string and set the value name as Default and for value data, name it whatever refers to your sounds step 5 create another string set the value name as: in and enter the value data as title of your #_in.wav you made earlier step 6 create another string set the value name as: out and value data as your #_out.wav you made earlier step 7 (to make sure the reg edits stick) press the power button on your device on the side, leave it off for 30 seconds, turn it on, then back off and soft reset the device step 8 go into your sliding sounds settings and apply your new sound scheme |
Re: How to add your own slider sounds on the ppc 6800 AKA mogul by htc
You said you assume you can add as many as you want. Has anyone been able to add more than one? I tried to add 3 but only the first one showed up and worked. The other two didnt even show up. I followed the directions exactly keeping them in the numerical sequence, my first one was 3 next 4 then 5. Same as the wav. files. Any ideas?
TIA |
Re: How to add your own slider sounds on the ppc 6800 AKA mogul by htc
yeah for sure i have 11 of them on my phone at this very moment. after you do the registry tweaks to one of them push the power button and leave it like that for bout 30 seconds and than turn it back on and make sure that the changes stuck. after that do a soft reset and you will be fine to do another. Ive got a couple of them converted over to a cab file but i need to figure out how to make it so that more than one cab can be installed at the same time. I hope that this helps ya bro if not post what problems your running into in this thread and i will guide you through the process. Good Luck

Re: How to add your own slider sounds on the ppc 6800 AKA mogul by htc
OK I got it to work. What I did wrong was after I created the first one I did like you said and restarted it, that one went through, but then I waited to restart it again untill after making the next two, instead of doing the restart after each one. That was my mistake. So I just deleted them and started over doing the restart after each one. Works Perfect. This was my first registry edit and it went great, thanks to your easy to follow directions.
Thanks!!! |

thats your problem there you have the 6700. you need the cab file to allow you to have the sounds which is located at https://www.wckediden.com/showthread...383#post178383
after that is installed you willl be fine |

Re: How to add your own slider sounds on the ppc 6800 AKA mogul by htc
ok you have the registry editor and all correct? you followed and know where the strings are at that are to be changed correct? you put the 2 wav files in the windows folder correct??? after you changed the strings to your wav files you pushed the power button than let it sit for at least 1 minute and than powered back on opened the program back up from either xbutton or under settings/system/memory/running programs and than open to make sure that they still stuck and if they did close the program completely by going back to the settings/system/memory/ running programs than close the program.... than do a soft reset if you follow that on top of the way to do it from the tutorial that i wrote it will work... good luck and hopes this helps

Re: How to add your own slider sounds on the ppc 6800 AKA mogul by htc
I think i did everything correct, but when i look in sliding sounds and i see what i put them (ex sega) It doesn't play, i dont think i put the file in the right place, it says windows directory but i'm not sure where that is, i placed it in my windows based device next to the storage card and program files and my documents, is that the correct place?
|
Re: How to add your own slider sounds on the ppc 6800 AKA mogul by htc
you place the slider sounds in wav. format in the windows folder. go to file explorer/than all than make sure your in main memory/ than you will see a windows folder all the way down not the one in the storage card.
