as dash said check usb pins on phone...kinda wiggle it while its plugged in....if it connects and then unconnects its the phone...if still no go. Then go to start menu...type in device manager...open it up....check with your phone plugged in portable devices....if it doesn't show...check under universal serial bus controllers..check one by one for mis functioning message....also you can check each for recent hardware changes...
I did everything you said. IIt says connecting when i plug it in but after awhile it says activesync could not connect to the device.
