I do about 4-5k texts a month so i purge all my messages maybe once every couple of days and since i started doing that i havnt had that problem...
Maybe you should just reinstall everything with a clean reflash and then backup again. Seems as it would be much faster than continuing to try find out the problem and hard resetting like 10 times.
