i know this is a old post but i was having the same problem and i solved it so i figured i would post the settings i used.
After you install TCPMP and are getting choppy video, go to options,video and chose RAW FrameBuffer. the video should play very smoothly now even with the video quality set to Normal. hope this helps anyone in the future, and if it does hit the thanks button!
That should work and if you search under mobile programs there is all the codecs/plug-ins for tcpmp. Might still be on 1st or second page. I play movies/stream video etc on mine with no problem.
