Dash, I was having this issue as well. What I did to solve it was:
1) Settings
2) Regional
3)Time and Time Zone Settings
4) Check both boxes:
A) Auto Time Correction to GPS
B) Use Auto Time Zone
5) If iGO8 has not already set your current time zone then set it. But, mine detected where I was automatically.
So now after I did this my regular time does not get messed up.

thanks i did that before i hard reset when i was testing that out and all but it will reverty back to old out of no where...... and i also didnt like how it changed the date format and how your not able to change that back to the stock way.
