ok guys i've set it up how i wanted.. i really like the way its setup.. i'm not convinced this way is better.. when you have UL full screened (290 pixels + start menu bar) & rotate to the next tab it shows the blackdrop jpeg which has un-usable buttons on the other tabs where RLtoday isn't..
included is my screenshot, honestly the weatherpanel takes the cake vs the HTC Home weather.. pretty slick lookin if i do say so myself.. props to mike20pr..

is kind of big though, and you do lose those HTC home buttons this way. And yeah, when you spin the whole page, you lose those mid button's functionality... Nice idea though... something to build on later too...
