The #777 links the phone to a data connection to transfer the mms. That is the only way that alltel's network will work with smartphones. I would make a quick call to Alltel to verify this info but the last I checked they waive the fee's for the media messages. Just make sure nothing else on your phone is connecting to this line. My recommondation is to get on one of their smartphone plans so you can use that phone for what it was intended...
