I have literally been searching all day for someone with a similar problem as mine but have found zilch. Please forgive me and kindly redirect me to the correct thread if this is a repeated problem. I think my problem is quite unique, however.

I recently tried updating my rom from 2.09 to the latest version and something occurred around 10% and I got the rainbow screen. So, I ran Exit Bootloader and my phone started up ok, but then everytime the backlight turned off, the phone wouldnt come back on and id have to hard reset (the green light at the top still blinked).

I checked my device information and my rom version is listed as my original 2.09 but next to radio version, protocol version, prl version, pri version, and ESN there is nothing, absolutely blank!

I have tried reupdating the Rom with the both the new update and the update for 2.09 but it gives me the Error 238 after 1%. I read that this error has only come up for Vista users, and I have windows XP. I believe my Rom was somehow corrupted when trying to update to the new version. My phone still seems to work fine (i can make calls and connect to wi-fi) other than the fact that when I dont use it for a minute the screen shuts off and wont come back on and i have to hard reset (which is obviously a major problem).

Any idea as to what I can do from here? Is there a way I can wipe the slate clean on my memory and upload the original uncorrupted rom without using the RUU (like I said I get error 238) ?

Am i better off going to a sprint store and having them look at it?
