Default The Remote Party Has Ended This Connection

You may have a good data plan that allows you to browse internet on your pocket pc directly with Opera or Internet Explorer Mobile but when you try using the same on your laptop with Internet Sharing, you get the error "The remote party has ended this connection"

Chances are that your carrier or service provider has disabled this feature and force you to pay an extra dollars for this service. For example, sprint charges an extra 30 USD per month for this service.

However, you can easily enable this with a simple registry hack which can be tried at your own risk. Simply, delete the key 'ForceCellConnection' under 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\InternetSharing\settings' and soft-reset your pocket pc.

You may use the free PHM Registry Editor or try the awesome Resco File Explorer with registry editing extensions.
