I cant read the text over my battery either. This guide is mainly towards vga so it just wont display the same way on our qvga devices. I just live with not readying the text and looking at the actual green part of the battery. Installing the nue tools did nothing but screw up all the work I had already done installing and changing the other icons. This is why I posted not to install nue tools in dette's thread on ppcgeeks. I hope this gives you some help and answers some of your questions:)
Edit: nue tools screwed me up so bad that my phone would not soft reboot. I had to pull the battery to be able to boot properly.
OK, will just have to live with it then ... I noticed on PPCGeeks you mentioned getting them message icons changed too, I installed the file that was mentioned but don't see a change.
