it will connect.... if you dont have it pluged in after you palce the phone in bootloader mode you will see that it says serial.... when you plug the cord into your computer it will go to usb. when that shows you are connected even though your computer wont recognize it as being so....... just run the romupdateutility and you will be fine :>
or you can do from the card by doing this
1. extract the nbh file from the radio ruu folder
2. rename it to RALPHIMG.nbh
3. take a 2 gig sd card or less and format to FAT32
4. drag the nbh tover to the newly formatted card
5. place the phone in manual bootloader by pressing and holding the power, volume down, and midle circle on the d-pad.
6. than follow the steps on screen and you will be fine...
