I opened windows media on my phone went to menu-->options-->clicked on the skin tab and all I see is the default(portrait) skin.

what skins did you downlaod? if they were froom here you should have posted in that thread so we can take a look also... and also if you downloaded them from here those are qvga skins and not vga skins meaning they will not work on your touch pro.
