instinct is for the technologically challenged, i played with one and cant do 1/4 of what the touch can do but its a great "works really well out of the box like it should" type of device, which honestlly WM devices arent so famous for

if he wants something very limited yet simple, easy to use, and performs well out of the box then instinct it is.

if he wants virtually unlimited possibilities at the expense of tweaks and mods to have it in tip top shape, then touch it is
